Alexandre positions himself in the second floor armory, by the stairs and backs himself into the corner.

Alexandre searches the armory around him for any weapons or items.

Seeing the young elf race off towards the wing where the rogue emperor Emeraldo was known to be lurking, Nerwen held out a hand to arrest his rush.

That way is Emeraldo's wing. Perhaps you had best wait for other heroes to clear him out.

She smiled gently at his impetuosity and indicated with her glance the ogre who appeared to be directing matters.

"Hello Mr Ogre, nice to meet you" Nyx almost shouts up at the Ogre so as to be heard "Hi, my name's Nyx, uhm I'm a Battle Mage, anyway could you also ask the other guy (Luke I think it was?) to heal me up too? As well as Tarn? I'm usually fighting fit for the next battle, but I'm not, so.... could you ask him to help me out please? Thank you :sweet:"

Skrall looked down from his study of the map to the young woman who was addressing him, "Glad to meet ya Ms. Nyx I'm sorry we couldn't meet under more pleasant circumstances." Before Skrall could comply with her request, the Elven cleric had healed the young mage. "Hmm..." he thought to himself before addressing the rest of the Party, "The way I see it, we have should have 4 main points of positioning, a group in the sourthern most corridor to gaurd the main entrance, Cronk I believe you and a team of 4 would be most suited to take that postion. The second party should position themselves in the corridor just outside of Alandri's quarters in order to deal with any intrusions from the rear of the fortress quickly. Another Party of 4 would do the trick, preferably with a cleric, my suggestion Luke. A third Party should take up a position in the corridor just outside of Ella's study, in case we're goin' to be dealin' with secret passage ways, I believe the Elven cleric and another 3 heroes or so would be most handy up there. A last group of 4 should deal with this rogue emperor I keep hearin' about, while a cleric would be handy I think those would be more useful in the defensive position. What's important is that we get in there and take 'em out fast, if someone's willin' to let me borrow a mead I'll head that group up preferably with a mage with a healin' staff. The final 4 of us should position themselves in strategic locations where they can quickly get to the other parties to help out, or deal with intruders from unexpected directions. Ms. Nyx, the gentleman with the Chicken, and the two individuals with wings I think should seperate themselves between the 1st and second floors. Also, important we should have a Pheonix Essence with each of the main groups just in case. I can go into more of who I think would be most suited fer which group, but I'll let you all digest that fer the time bein'."

"Will be AFK for the foresable future Had his lips frozen shut by the icy air that accompanied the Chimera, and needs to have somebody else decided his actions for him has to pantomime his actions to other members of the group, who in turn must decipher what he means to do. Is there anybody who needs to be controlled by another player with a similar malady in the other groups?"

Xander listens to the other heroes devising plans, huddled over a map of the palace. Feeling a slight tap on his shoulder, he turns to see Nerwen with a determined look in her eyes handing him a nostrum. "Thank you, Nerwen," Xander says in a comforting tone. "If fate does not allow us to meet again, it has been a pleasure working side by side with someone like you."

Walking up to group with the map, Xander addresses the tan ogre: "If no one has any objections, I would like to join Team Yellow and deal with the traitorous Emperor; we have unsettled business that needs to be attended to," he says as he points to the corridor near Emeraldo's wing. "I'm also in possession of a phoenix essence that will be useful if anyone requires it."

Retreating back to his original standing spot, Xander begins to drink the nostrum while applying venom to his axe.

"Very well, I was thinkin' this: Cronk, I was expectin' Tarn, the little shade De'kra, and Count Knyghton to accompany you, that gives you a barbarian for holdin' back the enemies, a knight fer keepin' the party safe and 1 Pheonix essence with ya. Alexandre, I'd appreciate it if you and Galen would accompany Count Lewis to outside Alandri's quarters. Thothwick ya'd be with our mage Arthur, pardon his rather vague look at the moment, the Elven cleric, and Mr. Harkenshire guardin' Ella just outside of her study, that gives you a cleric, pheonix essence, a darkness wieldin' mage and a quick ranger. Nyx, the rogue with the chicken, and the two bird people, you four would be in the halls keepin' an eye out for any enemy troops lurkin' about, we'll get help to ya quick if ya come upon too large of a group. Xander if ya wouldn't mind givin' that pheonix essence to Nerwen I think she'll need it. Yourself, Isabella, and the snake-like lookin' mage would then accompany me to take out Emeraldo, Phil if ya wouldn't mind, I could use a mead if ya could spare one."

Cronk should point out that team hired originally by Emeraldo is expected to capture Emeraldo. What is plan to capture traitor?

Cronk is fine with whatever role Cronk's friends want of Cronk but Cronk just want make sure objective is completed. Cronk not care which friends capture traitor.

Cronk will also take opportunity to apply Paralyzing Venom to Zoot's Bane. Should help Cronk keep any large groups Cronk encounters at bay.

Tarn nodded at the Ogre. He liked this guy's 'take charge' attitude immediately. "By your command"' he said, looking over at the rest of Team Blue. De'kra, he knew, the Orc Paladin he had only met very briefly, during the tragic standoff with Constance. Lord Knyghton he did not recognise at all.

IC: De'kra winced as Team Blue was decided. The echo could feel a slight copper taste in his hands as he eyed Tarn, the memories of that bomb still lingered in his mind. Still, Skrall seemed to know what he was doing, and at least it wasn't that witch. With a slightly resigned nod De'kra accepted the arrangements.

Turning to Cronk De'kra explained, "Hammer-Hero, Leader, Skrall, and another hero are go to face Emeraldo, at least accord to initial plans."

Atramor nodded to Skrall, raising an eyebrow at Nyx as she chewed on the Dragon Scale and seemed to stare at his chicken...hungrily. McCafferey merely blinked at the battle mage.

"I like your plan, mate, but what's the point of havin' me in that corridor? Nobody's even in the Septrine wing, and there's already a team upstairs keeping Ella protected. I'd like to start at the entrance, my witchiness will cripple any of the soldiers who manage to break through. But, if needs be, I'll gladly break off if anyone needs to be or needs healin'. A temporary position, to put it simply.

Phil, I think ya' should give one of your Meads to this Skrall guy, and either chug the other one or pass it off to someone else."

Sarick listened to the flurry of activity before saying "Does anyone else from our group have an interest in the bow? Once I have your answers I will divvy up the loot."

He then turned to Skrall and said "I am fine with your position as Ultimate Party Leader, as long as I am one of the heroes on the team to take out the traitor. That seems to be the current plan."

OoC: Everyone check this over, and make sure that everything is correct, then, we will start the battle! Flitty, poison disappears after the battle, even if it was not used, so neither is poisoned. We need Xarrzan to divi up the loot anyway, so perhaps you ought to talk to your teams and prepare. This is RPG gold for the next 12 hours... and then the palace is going to get ugly.

Phil tosses a Mead to Skrall and then downs one himself.

OoC: The heroes will be able to be in the corridor before the first round, but them entering will kick off the fighting. Essentially, no change to the combat or the map, just for story purposes. HOWEVER, the Rito cannot get up to the second floor of Emeraldo's wing that quickly, so I will place her in the corridor with the rest of the Emerlado-capturin' team.

IC: De'kra watched the groups of heroes as they were divided up, for this singular final battle. Soon the fate of Dastan will be resolved, at least or now. 

"They might not survive."

De'kra paused at the words of the first voice, and shuddered slightly . It was right, there was no guarantee that they would survive. The heroes he knew personally back home typically survived their battles, but heroes were an endangered species back there. Heroes died, De'kra just rarely witnessed it personally. Or maybe he just didn't focus on it. And any one of the heroes here might die, just like Lhikan or the other version of Matoro. This might be his last time to see them.

"Listen heroes," said De'kra, "This is climax to everything. Heroes and I are on heroes' own here, and heroes and I will stand or fall on heroes' own. Heroes and I can not rely on back-up now, like heroes always have not. Heroes of course won't give up, heroes and I not come all this way-fight all these fights- just to lose. But sometimes hero can not simply beat villains and come home cover in glory. Sometimes heroes have to make sacrifices so that lot of people-people heroes and I have never met before and who not know heroes' names- can live. Heroes can die, and this might be last time heroes see each other. If you have any words for your comrades, now is time."

Correct! :thumbup: I've also modified the rules just slightly, the new rules are posted below.

1) Moving rooms counts as a turn.

2) Targetted enemies will not move rooms. Untargetted enemies may move rooms or may take an opportunity for a free hit.

3) If the enemy enters the room with an NPC target (Ella, Emperor Septrine, Emperor Alandri, Nikolai) they will 'pick up' the NPC. If the enemy makes it successfully back out of the palace with that NPC, that NPC is lost. To free the NPC, you must kill the enemy holding them.

4) Because there are so many players and this battle could go on forever, one of the three QMs will run the battle every 24 hours (or as close as we can get). If you have not posted within that time-frame, we will pick what we believe to be the best action for you. We cannot, however, force you to use consumables, so if you are close to a KO we will either have you sit the round out, or attack if there would be a free-hit that would get you in the case that you didn't attack.

5) Red rooms on the maps mean stairs. They are the only way to get from floor to floor. Entering a stair "room" takes a turn, and then you may proceed on your next turn to move into the corridor on either of the floors.

6) For Quest 30 players only: if Emperor Septrine is taken out of the Palace, you fail the quest.

7) If you use your turn to move out of a room with enemies in it, and a free hit would have been landed on you, the free hit still lands. This is only true for one free hit per round (ex: if there would have been free hits on Players A, then B, then C, then A, but A is moving out of the room, one free hit will land on A, then he will move to his intended room, and the free hits will land on B, then C, then B).

The only change is the addition of rule #7. This rule was added because, while looking at potential scenarios, I realized that you could in theory just run from the enemy permanently, constantly falling back by using your turn to move to an adjacent room. This will prevent this.

QM Note:

Is this correct? I think I got everyone; only thing I wasn't sure of is if the Venom had already been taken out of your inventory, posades, and which weapon you Poisoned. How many Venoms should you have?

It's not clear what class Denerii the Rito is, but she is currently wielding a bow. I assume she could borrow the precision bow if I owned it and lent it to her?

QM Note: Correct, for our purposes the Winged Warrior class is generic as far as what weapons they use, but yes she can use the precision bow.

Is this correct? I think I got everyone; only thing I wasn't sure of is if the Venom had already been taken out of your inventory, posades, and which weapon you Poisoned. How many Venoms should you have?

Nyx grins and winks at Atramor as she gulps down the last of her Dragon Scale. That man had an unnatural attachment to that bird, however she was starting to wonder if there was more to that chicken than met the eye. She shrugs, she still thinks it would make good target practise for some fireballs.

During all this she also listens attentively to the Ogre's battle plan, and nods along with the suggestions. The skills and items seem evenly weighted and distributed, and she feels encouraged that so a large a team has such a sensible leader. She notes the plan is for her to be stationed in the Throne Room and wonders whether the Emperor will let her have a go sitting on one of the Thrones, and also wonders if Nikolai will also be fighting with her.

"Listen heroes," said De'kra, "This is climax to everything. Heroes and I are on heroes' own here, and heroes and I will stand or fall on heroes' own. Heroes and I can not rely on back-up now, like heroes always have not. Heroes of course won't give up, heroes and I not come all this way-fight all these fights- just to lose. But sometimes hero can not simply beat villains and come home cover in glory. Sometimes heroes have to make sacrifices so that lot of people-people heroes and I have never met before and who not know heroes' names- can live. Heroes can die, and this might be last time heroes see each other. If you have any words for your comrades, now is time."

Nyx hears the little clicky runny thing talk and frowns.

"I disagree. I've fought side by side with most of the Heroes here, and dammit they are all damn fine fighters. We are not on our own, we are all part of a team. Small teams part of one big team also part of the bigger team - the Heroes of Heroica. Thinking thoughts like that - that we might die alone - is just depressing and wrong. If you want to go into battle feeling like that, fine, but I expect to fight, and win, and I will do so in the knowledge that it is the right thing to do and that we're all in this together. Talk about a buzz-kill."

IC : De'kra nodded and licked, "Normally I agree and you, and I still enact so to degree. Unite few things can threaten team, and most of time heroes are victorious. But...I am not sure all of group are team, or Heroica true team for that matter. So much has gone wrong on this quest, from heroes brutally kill loyal Dastan warrior to heroes being hire by Emarldo, who as group know is traitor. I am not sure if blind faith in heroes' abilities will work any more. So I think heroes should hope for best outcome, yet prepare for worst."
