Siegfried Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 How can I be early I was sent the email from LEGO themselves, the same press release and image is also on Brickset :p Beats me, but their image is watermarked too... Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) I'm a sucker for any set with a 16x16 plate. Also square cones. Oh, and the texturing with the grilles is one of my favorite microscale techniques. (I'm using something similar in my own rendition of a 'minecraft micro world' - Nether Fortress window bars). But damn, $30. I'd rather just keep saving for a tower bridge. Edited April 18, 2012 by SpiderSpaceman Quote
Bricksan Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Beats me, but their image is watermarked too... it was sent in error here is the unwatermarked one: Quote
The Blue Brick Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 This is great, one of the better designs of the architecture series imo. Quote
Churchill Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 (edited) Overall I like the look of this, and plan to pick it up. The clock face bothers me, too, though. Just seems like for such a well known "clock" that that very commonly used clock piece is out of place. I wish there was another solution. Edited April 19, 2012 by Churchill Quote
Vindicare Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I like it. I've never really been a fan of Architecture series enough to buy one. This one may change that. I was(and still am) considering the Robie House, but yikes, so expensive. Quote
caperberry Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 6box 21016 Sungnyemun just arrived :D oooh! I'm interested to hear the reviews, i'm very undecided about this model Quote

GRogall? ;-) If you're referring to the Eames House, it seems the rumor may have been a bit premature: check out this discussion. I really hope it does eventually come out though. Quote

tafkatb Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 That does look very nice! I mean, I'm not a fan of le Corbusier but I might still need to get this. Looks like the set is by another new designer, too, but I can't quite make out the name. Quote
Ceroknight Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 That looks amazing! Still very overpriced for $70 Quote

GRogall Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 (edited) Here the first HR official image of.... Build a LEGO brick model of this famous modernist-style country house residence! Situated on the outskirts of Paris, France, Villa Savoye was designed by Le Corbusier in the 1920s as the perfect embodiment of Le Corbusier's "Five Points" construction principles. This fusion of modern architecture and nature was intended to create harmony with Villa Savoye's woodland surroundings. Just like the real thing, this set features columns, functional roof space, open floor planning, long horizontal windows and a free facade. This LEGO Architecture series interpretation of Villa Savoye was designed by German architect Michael Hepp in collaboration with the LEGO design team. LEGO Architecture Villa Savoye •Interpretation of real-world architectural icon Villa Savoye •Booklet included with details on design and history •English language only; other languages available for download •Measures: 3.6"H (9.2cm) x 7.5"W (19.2cm) x 6.7"D (17.6cm) Picture links to HR version +2400.pxl 21014 Villa Savoye Enjoy! :classic: Edited August 23, 2012 by GRogall Quote
Ferrik Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 The latest set in the Architecture line looks realistic and I just love the use of transparent bricks to create that glass look. Quote
