Alasdair Ryan Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I was looking forward to using those servo motors for pneumatic switch's,but the models i was hoping to use them for would need 4-10 servo motors. So i think I will hang off to see if the price falls a bit,any one got any idea on how long it might be to the price drops a bit? Quote
allanp Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 but the models i was hoping to use them for would need 4-10 servo motors. You're gonna need to make a bigger boat! Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 You're gonna need to make a bigger boat! We are getting a bigger boat in 2014. Quote
allanp Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Wow, that's a lot more expensive than the other PF motors :( That's business. I guess they want to pursuade you to buy the whole set, not just the new motors. We are getting a bigger boat in 2014. Does everything Scottish have to have the word "mac" in it? Quote

SNIPE Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Hi, How come Lego did not use a voice coil in the servo motor, the same thing is used to move the read arm on a hard drive they are incredible fast and incredibly accurate. Quote

alpin-ingenieur Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) Nice video. Will you please make a video with the servo motor attached to a pneumatic switch? tim Hey Tim, if you are interested in attaching the servo motor to a pneumatic switch, have a look at my design studies for an autovalve. This may give you an idea about how this can be done. I will test it as soon as I get the motor or it is released by ldraw.org. cheers, Boris Edited July 3, 2012 by alpin-ingenieur Quote
AVCampos Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 At the very least, you'd need to connect the servo to the switch via an 8T/16T reduction (or other gear train that yields 2:1) or a suitable linkage, to convert the servo's +-90º range into the switch's +-45º range. That way, you won't need an unreliable train controller. Quote
Starbager 1 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I love her look of it but unfortunately you can not even buy it separately Quote
