Favored for their speed, these ships are often used as escort for trading vessels, to fight off pirates. they were produced in high numbers and sold all over. Alas, since pirates themselves have been using these the sale precautionary froze.

You can still hire them along with a crew for escort.

Designed and produced in Barqa, the great port city.

Two samples of my invention are mounted on the forecastle, Sniper bows, they are more useful on a steady ground though, originally design to function on top of a watchtower.

I'm considering building another ship, I'm not really satisfied with this one, I've done a lot better ones, a bit more modern though, ships with cannons and all.

I'm not sure what technology is appropriate here, I saw some steampunk MOCs already, which makes it a small step to go for a steam-powered ship :sceptic:

For this ship I followed one simple rule, no gunpowder. Still, cannons are less modern than steampowder

Great work on this one! The Kaliplin colours mixed in the boat is really nice!

Now I want to build a boat to! To bad I have hundreds of mocs stored in my head already!

Aww, Sebeus, I believe GEAR Co. had bought a few of these from you in years past. Our large fleet uses them as workhorses along the southern coast. A solid little ship.

OCC: I like the mix of colors, although, it does seem like a renaissance ship in its bow lines. I would raise the castles a bit to make it feel more medieval. Although... It is a trade ship, so maybe not.

I think, with the interest in ship building that we may want to have a fighting ship / trade ship contest as one of our filler contests. I could probably put some money towards a gift card prize next month. Although, I would hope to compete as my whole group is based off being former pirates and privateers, but I guess I could be one of the judges instead.

If you work with a poll to judge, you can compete as well! :classic:

Anyway, Sebeus I, I love this ship!!! Like they say here in Flanders: "prachtig!"

I have to agree that raising the castles would make it more medieval, but it is not necessary for this ship.

ICC:

Ah, these ships are always a pleasure to my eyes when I see them arriving at the Ghuba-ya Biashara (the greater bay in front of Mpya Stedor), escorting other tradevessels!

It is a very nice ship. . . although it seemed to me like the sides were red and mormal blue - I believe Kaliphlin is Red and dark blue. The red and blue do go very well though, and I like the general build as well.

Great little ship Sebeus, looks nice and fast! The tapered shape of the stern is especially lovely. Now i'm thinking that i really ought to go back and work some more on my ship... (At the moment it is in the growing pile of unfinished mocs!)
