Some bonus models!

7291 - Street Rebel [Model D] - theme: Creator

_7291d.png

Model D: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Gnac/Creator/_7291d.lxf

Errors: None

Notes: I don't even know what the heck this is supposed to be! Toa_Of_Justice linked to the plans here.

7292 - Propeller Adventures [Model D] - theme: Creator

_7292d.png

Model D: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Gnac/Creator/_7292d.lxf

Errors: None

Notes: Rotating the engines proved too frustrating with the hinge tool, so I decided to investigate bricks that have their own hinge. Yay for rocking plates!

Works just fine for me when i click on the link or select save as.

Could be it works because I edited the broken link!

(you can see the intervention in the Edit Note)

@Gnac

I edited your post #2516.

Different models have to be inserted as separated sets.

About the "Bonus model for 7291" (post #2523), did you built it using official instructions? If the answer is yes, please mark it as "Model D".

9398 - 4x4 Crawler - B-Model[/url] - Theme: Technic - LXF File

Great TECHNIC-Set... I started with 8880 but aligning the gears is pretty frustrating *huh*

Keep up the good work!

btw:

what program do you use for creating your models/LXF-Files? The rendering looks pretty amazing :oh:

The only program to make lxf files is ldd, so he used ldd.

But the picture looks different, because the model is rendered using LDD2PovRay :classic:

Probably he is rendering his creations using LDD2Powray and obviously Powray.

Unfortunately these renderings are not allowed in this topic (thumbnails have to be LDD screenshots of the set to show a preview of the work), so they have to be replaced, but can be provided as extra using text links).

Why aren't pov-ray images allowed? I mean, if the model is still a lxf file, and it has a nice image, why would you prohibit that? I don't see the point :sceptic:

We discussed about that, and at the end we decided to maintain the choice to allow screenshots only.

Here is part of the reasons I communicate to another user:

That's because the thumbnail have to provide e preview of the work (renderings uses different parts library and can contain differences from the lxf model), and can be useful to spot errors (for exemple the use of a wrong colour) and suggest building techniques.

Sorry, my notes for that model probably made it seem like it was a MOC. I've updated the post with a link to the thread where I got the plans.

Oh, in this case I can't accept the model inside the topic.

As the title says, this is the topic of official sets, and only models build with official TLG instructions can be accepted.

These model can be shared here as extra (but without an image directly linked) together with an official model (if the model is not your, I suggest you to ask permission to the original builder).

EDIT: reading the post of Toa_of_Justice you linked above, I see the model is an official TLG model, and the build instructions has been shared via LEGO Club.

So the set is perfectly acceptable.

Is the set 7292 [Model D] in the same situation too?

9465 The Zombies (LDD 4.2 - Monster Fighters)

ERRORS:

Collision error between parts 6589 and 60474 (p52)

Well spotted

30385 should not be used there, it's a new piece that should be used.

9466 The Crazy Scientist And His Monster (LDD 4.2 - Monster Fighters)

ERRORS:

Collision error between parts 32123 and 87083 (Book 2, p16)

Part 30385 cannot connect to 3708 (Book 1, p21)

first error probably an illegal build from the TLG designers as it seems the design will bend the stack of bricks outward.

30385 should not be used there, it's a new piece that should be used.

9467 The Ghost Train (LDD 4.2 - Monster Fighters)

Collision error between parts 64951 and 32123 (Book 1, p34)

Reported before, but still good find.

9468 Vampyre Castle (LDD 4.2 - Monster Fighters)

ERRORS:

Collision error between parts 6064 and wall (Book 1, p53)

Collision error between parts 30374 and 2462 (Book 1, p74)

first error (i.e. using anti-stud cavities) is very unusual design, but I've seen it before. Strange TLG designers didn't use 3L bars instead. Anyway, as we know, LDD does not support using those cavities....yet.

Update: It seems it's not 30385 (crystal rock) that should be in these Monsters sets. I tried to place the 30385 on a technic x-axle (with physcial brick), and it didn't work. So then I had a closer look at the BI, and it looks like it's a new gem elemement (not the crystal rock).

I did mention that part replacement in the error lists for all sets above. The new part isn't LDD, so I used 30385 as a replacement.

The index lists my version of 10195 Republic Dropship With AT-OT Walker as two separate parts. I have now combined these two parts into one file for the set, updated the set to LDD 4.2 and removed the previous versions from their respective posts. Each part of the set can still be found separately in my Brickshelf folder here, when public.

Good find. It's a tricky error. I haven't seen this technique used before (attaching to 1x3 plate). I'm not sure that the LEGO internal models go through the same legal building testing as other sets. Or this may in fact be legal....
