MattZitron Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Apologises for the awful picture. Here's my purist Beta Ray Bill: I showed this to the creator Walter Simonson and he said "LOL! This may be the best BRB figure I've seen." I've also done purist Zombie Avengers, and Earth 666 Avengers (if you're reading the current run on Secret Avengers you'll see who I mean.) I'll post them soon! Quote
ReZourceman Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 That is a fantastic Stormbreaker. I've got a WIP Beta Ray Bill, so that has given me some inspiration. Nice job. :) Quote
MattZitron Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 That is a fantastic Stormbreaker. I've got a WIP Beta Ray Bill, so that has given me some inspiration. Nice job. :) Thanks dude. Really happy with it. Went for a few trys and even had one end bigger like it should be, but preferred the look of this one. Quote
Legoroni Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I made a few more minifigs. Warning: The pictures are a bit large. Scarlet Spider 4 of the original 5 X-Men For Angel, use the same basic parts and use the wing technique made by ReZourceman. Quote
Oky Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Yay! I'm one of the X-Men! Nice work everybody! Especially you, ReZourceman! You certainly are rezourceful when it comes to purist Marvel figs! Keep 'em coming! I have some purist figs of my own. Here's my Young Justice team: Young Justice by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Quote
Debricker Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Ras Al Ghul by sok117, on Flickr Purist Ra's Al Ghul and Talia. Love Ra's, what piece did you use for his head? Quote
ReZourceman Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Those are fantastic Oky. Whose is Kid Flash's torso?! Quote
Oky Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Love Ra's, what piece did you use for his head? Same here. It's Blackbeard's. Those are fantastic Oky. Whose is Kid Flash's torso?! Thanks. It's from the CMF Surfer. Quote
Repeter Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) Hey folks, I'm very new here and just loving this thread. I just wanted let you all know how inspired I am to do some super hero, purist customs of my own. I am a photographer by trade and have been involved in creating scenery and characters for tabletop gaming for the past 10yrs. I hope these skills come in handy! Anyway, thank you for the ideas and keep 'em coming! Edited January 10, 2013 by Repeter Quote
MattZitron Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 ReZourceman, what torso did you use for Wasp? Quote
MattZitron Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Thanks dude. I'm a moron and didn't see he'd answered on Flickr! Quote
Hobbestimus Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Yay! I'm one of the X-Men! Nice work everybody! Especially you, ReZourceman! You certainly are rezourceful when it comes to purist Marvel figs! Keep 'em coming! I have some purist figs of my own. Here's my Young Justice team: Young Justice by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr These are great, but I think Aqualad needs a red torso. What about this one: Quote
Oky Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 These are great, but I think Aqualad needs a red torso. Thanks. Some people on Flickr said that as well, but I disagree. To me his tank top is clearly orange. Perhaps a darker shade of orange than Aquaman's, but orange nonetheless. Plus he needs to have that Atlantean belt buckle, so this torso is pretty much perfect for him in my opinion. The only thing he might be missing is those straps around his shoulders, but oh well. Besides, isn't that torso you suggested dark red? Someone suggested using Deadpool's torso, but I don't think that would suit Aqualad at all since it's too... deadpoolish. Quote
Hobbestimus Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I've always precieved Aqualad's torso as Dark Red, but my Young Justice exposure has been limited. Hey, as long as you're happy with him. :) Quote
Repeter Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) Wow, you people are very inspiring. As soon as I saw this thread, I knew I had to make some of my own and my mind has been occupied with what mini parts could combine to make what figs. Fairly insane, once you delve into some BrickLink research. I don't have a very large selection of minifigs to butcher and this is my first stab at this purist thing, but suggestions are more than welcome. I am going to make some orders soon so any parts you think would improve my stuff, lemme know! As you can see, most of my ideas were totally ripped off from you fine folks here. Thanks for all the great stuff! Scarlett Spider and a very loose interpretation of Dormammu (I have some ideas how to make this guy better, some chopping and a purple rubberband...but it wouldn't be purist anymore): Sabertooth (I'd like to use Aang legs, but that mini is pricey in secondary market), Prof X and Cyclops: Punisher (lol at his torso) , Crossbones and Winter Soldier (how to make hand better?!?): Wasp and Yellowjacket (he has a black visor that is hard to see): Ras, just after nursing off the Lazarus T...Pit (eye roll here) and the all-too-easy Man-bat: FYI, to anyone looking to make an awesome Taskmaster like the couple in this thread, that perfect torso is from the Viking line. I'm all over that. Where to get a white hood, though? Edited January 13, 2013 by Repeter Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Awesome figs, but they don't make white hoods so it's time to get the paints out! Quote
ReZourceman Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Those are awesome! Great idea for Yellowjackets wings too! I have some more to come, made The Wrecking Crew and Crimson Dynamo. I am working on Mandarin. Quote

I am working on Mandarin. Thanks, you are the man with the purist Marvel stuff. Consider me a fan...and I hope you don't mind people blatantly copying you, with credit, of course. Can't wait to see your new stuff, I love the Wrecking Crew and Crimson Dynamo! Quote

Legoroni Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Does anyone have any pictures of Batman's cowl on Nova's head and Nova's helmet on Batman's head? I want to see if we can give them both a few different expressions. Quote
Hobbestimus Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I don't have pics, but I tried Batman's cowl on Nova's head yesterday...no worky. Nova's visor is set too low. Quote
Legoroni Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Darn. Did you try it with the new cowl? Quote
