And where are the technic pins placed? You'll want to build on a 32 stud deep baseplate, width is variable and up to you. If built on a 16 x 32 baseplate, a basic building would have a footprint of 16 x 16 studs, the backyard and pavement are both eight studs deep. Where the walls meet up with the next building, there are two 1 x 2 technic bricks, spaced twelve studs apart. The technic bricks you'll want placed directly on the baseplate. The resulting standard sidewall should be 2 x 1 studs (the front and back walls) + 2 x 2 studs (the technic bricks) + 12 studs (the space between the technic bricks) = 16 studs. That's the standard connecting sidewall for modular buildings. Quote

oo7 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 If it is another, different building you don't need the exact height, so you can loosely base it off of these if you want or copy them exactly if you want...... 1st floor - 9 bricks & 1 plate (excluding the very front) 2nd floor - 8 bricks & 4 plates (again, excluding the very front) 3rd floor - 7 bricks & 6 plates (excluding about one third of the width off front) Quote

UniqueBuilder Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 That's a very nice mod, Alex! Very nice, indeed! *sweet* It's incredible how you've managed to cramp the big Caf Quote
Holodoc Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Great idea and very well done! *y* Two houses for the price of one... ;-) MOD on! Quote
oo7 Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Awesome folder! :'-) Looking good, Alex. Now you need to cover the green floor with better colored plates! :-) Quote
phoinix Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 that looks lovely alex!! *y* *y* *y* well done! you have a great way of making every new extra-scale set down to "normal" lego scale!! *sweet* the only think that could use some down-sizing is the top of the roof with the parrots.. it could be a bit smaller.. other than that it looks very good! cant wait to see this in your city layout! ;-) along with all the tricks this set has taught you about house building!! i really like that blue house!its so cute and it would fit very nicely in a normal lego city along with classic lego town!! :-) edit:about the post of 007 this is a very cool find!! and this guy has created a new blog on the new creations for the corner cafe! http://bricktowntalk.blogspot.com/ Quote
MatthewUSA Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 I would like to send a THANK YOU to all who found these images. These have been some really cool ideas. I give these images two *y* up. I really *wub* the images of the interior. Thank you all again for the ideas. Quote

tedbeard Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 1st floor - 9 bricks & 1 plate (excluding the very front)2nd floor - 8 bricks & 4 plates (again, excluding the very front) 3rd floor - 7 bricks & 6 plates (excluding about one third of the width off front) Uhm, in my LEGO universe 3 plates=1 brick high which would make the dimensions: 1st & 2nd floor - 9 bricks & 1 plate 3rd floor - 9 bricks ;-) Quote

Brick Miner Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 i like that you made the CC studded, alex... to me, that is a must !!! however, are you considering putting this on a dark-gray baseplate, right now it looks like the buliding is growing straight out of the grass !!! - Brick Miner Quote
Norro Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Nice work Alex, I like your scale a of the cc a lot... A very nice set size! God Bless, Nathan Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Very nice version Alex *y* It isn't for sale? Quote
alex54 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks Norro and Calvin. And no, it's not for sale. Or if you want, send me a CC and I will send you my version :-D ! And thanks Brick Miner! however, are you considering putting this on a dark-gray baseplate, right now it looks like the buliding is growing straight out of the grass !!! I don't know what I will do for this... I want to buy some new all grey roadplates just for my towncenter which could be nice and less expensive than buying a lot of tiles! And with stunds, it's easyer to fix elements and it looks more LEGO for me. Anyway. But for the houses, I need some grey baseplates, because we will see some green stunds between houses and roadplates. And those grey baseplates are not so common nowadays... Those houses are not finished now: interior, good walls on each side,... Quote
Hinckley Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks Norro and Calvin. And no, it's not for sale. Or if you want, send me a CC and I will send you my version :-D ! Don't forget to charge for labor. Or is it labour? Quote
