OK, good points. I however prefer LXFML files in the first place, as it's easier to edit them manually and to copy-&-paste stuff around (mainly decorations and colors / materials not present in LDDs GUI). I will nonetheless accustom myself to using both LXFML and LXF files.

Yes, when using "tricks" can be more comfortable, but this regards only the editing stage.

Once the work on the file is finished, it is better to share a complete lxf file.

No, the script help me to take the lxf files, but not to gather set's data.

About signatures, I like to see signatures in my standard browsing, so I don't remove that.

About the minimal size, the rules suggest about 256px for small sets, but the exact value is up to the builder.

Usually the problem is that builders use oversized images, too small images has never happened. As these cases are very rare and it is not easy to communicate a general rule, I prefer to manage the single case if necessary.

Well, I had some time again, and I decided to learn some new techniques, to play with my old LEGO sets and to help Eurobricks.

I guess this has got me hooked after all...

So here it is: another old Creator set (ooo, those were sooo good: you got a decent set, built wacky machines, discovered new techniques and mechanisms and got tons of ideas in the instructions. Those were the good times. )

O, this was a tough one, with lots of flexible parts (that weren't flexible in LDD ), non-existing parts and difficult connections. But well, I learned things about LDD. The sweating was worth it.

Hi ms_g_tx, and welcome in the LDD Official Sets topic.

As the rules stated, sets with spared parts are not allowed here. Entries have to be builds, not inventories.

Besides, only one image is allowed and the use of attachment function of the forum is deprecated.

You can find all the rules of the topic in the first page.

So sorry, but the rules weren't that clear & now I'm a bit more confused.

I guess there is no way, in the post editor, to insert photos besides with a URL?

How are we supposed to share the LXF file if not via attachment?

And finally, I was purposefully sharing a simple "inventory"-type file because there is no other place on the internet where I could find such a file when I was looking for one (and this forum seemed the closest likely place).

I could easily build and post any one of a number of projects that could be built with this set -- but the whole point is to be able to build multiple projects. Isn't that true of many LEGO sets?

Sorry if y'all already had this debate...

Since I guess I have come to the wrong place to share this -- Can you or anyone else suggest another forum where people are sharing LDD files of simple set inventories?

I guess BrickShelf is the place most people are using to share their files? (too bad it's not as user-friendly & indexed like this forum is)

• Maybe the rules are verbose, but I think that are very clear about this point. Quoting from the rules: "The Set have to contain something you can build. Sets with scattered parts or single minifigures are not allowed".
  
• You have to use a file sharing service that allow direct link. As you can notice, the most used here is brickshelf, that allow you to share both images and lxf files. Then you can link images and files inside a post using the proper tools of this forum.
  
• You can easily create inventories using LDD Manager.
  You are probably true, there is not another indexed place where to post inventories made in LDD, but surely it is not this topic.
  You could try to start another topic if you want, but it would be very limited, because for all other sets you can take files from this topic and easily create a custom brick palette.

  Don't worry, I can understand the problem. And probably it is the first time a user ask about that.

47355 not in LDD - replaced with 98568.

x400c20 not in LDD - replaced with hose 76270.

54604 not in LDD - not replaced.

53988 can only be one-coloured.

32187 is correctly placed though it cannot be connected to 4274 ("pin" side). That seems to be a LDD bug.
