I finally got around to hanging up one of my most recent acquisitions - set 7893, the Passenger Plane.

I absolutely love this set - it looks really good, it's HUGE and it's functional. I approached the hanging ceremony with a little trepidation as I'm trying out this new "invisible" thread and I wasn't sure how strong it would be - so it's hung in three places as it comes in to land at Tabletown, anc in two of those places the thread is strung three times.

The airspace over Tabletown is rather crowded now with 6 helicopters, three planes and a Zeppelin flying overhead!

Looking cool! I have one suggestion - pull the landing gear off the bottom! ;-)

I'm off to find pictures of the other two planes and the Zeppelin.

I have been considering doing the same thing as the nose and tail of that plane are so hard to re-use elsewhere....

Many have taken the whole fuselage and stuck it on train wheels......

Yes, I have seen that and it looks great, but my layout is too small to accept an 8-wide train.

Point taken - except it IS coming in to land. :-) Oh, and the front landing gear is also vital for some of the threading - to stop the fuselage from slipping.

I've seen one of those - it looks awesome, but I don't think it would work in my town either.

Great idea on hanging up a lego plane. Truthfully, the plane not what I looked at. I just got my first look at Tabletown and I am thoroughly impreesed. :'-)

I don't see a landing strip. :-D Anyway, I did not realise you had tied the string to that, it's good to leave it alone in that case.

And thanks for that image, they seem to be all official LEGO sets, are they not? That's a very impressive layout, too. I also spotted the little 6458 orbiting around the rafters. X-D

Yes, it's looks like a very modern high speed bullet train, too fast for a little shuttle through the center of town. Here's what I did with my 7893 fuselage:

However, that was before the birth of my tabletown;

Oh, you have that Zepplin. I would love one of those!

Good idea. What did you do with the nose and tail piece though? Thats the one that has got me...

You've got me there...no room for one! The planes are in a permanent holding pattern!

Tabletown is mostly official sets, with a sprinkling of MOCs - the houses and high-rises are all MOCs. I'm glad you spotted the satellite - I enjoyed adding that little touch, although the MF is very lonely up there. :'-(

I love Tabletown! My fiancee rolls her eyes and walks away every time I plan a setup like that. Yet, she still buys me Legos every holiday and birthday (I got Market Street for my big three-oh this year)... Anyway, I'm really liking the Tabletown harbor and waterfront! *wub*

Yes, but they aren't going to get any cheaper!

Probably not, but I hope that;

1. I can find one cheap in a second hand store

2. Lego brings out a bigger and better one as part of the new Indy range.

I am dreaming, I know!

Or the much more likely; 3. You'll buy it here

Tempting, and I almost set up an eBay account for it... and then I noticed that it ships to Canada and USA only. Thanks very much anyway.

Agh, sorry about that, how could I forget? :-$ There's none on Ebay.com.au, unfortunately.
