60051 - High-Speed Passenger Train - Theme: "City" or "RC Train"

60051_high-speed_passenger_train.png

lxf file (LDD 4.3.8 updated to Brickset 1564.1)

Errors:

Train motor 87574 not in LDD, at least as an ID; I used 70358 which looks similar though it has no cable. 54754

Battery box 64228 is not in LDD - replaced by a brick-built solution.

Remote control 64227 not in LDD and not replaced

Train front parts 15536 and 15537 not in LDD - replaced by 55768

Minifigs' torso decorations are not correct; I cannot swear that the right ones are not in LDD palette, but browsing it all is beyond my forces.

Stickers missing.

Can you be more specific? I own the model and choose the best match from the (limited) color palette. For the Ghostbuster figures I could't find the Tan color or Light Skin colors, neither the Ghostbusters chest decorations.

Hi orionfrg,

I've checked your Ecto-1 and there are a lot of incorrect colour usage. According to the inventories there are some missing parts as well.

2 x 3021 black -> dark bluish grey

3 x 15573 black -> dark bluish grey

2 x 3069 bright yellow -> bright light orange

4 x 6587 reddish brown -> dark tan

2 x 93274 silver metallic -> light bluish grey

1 x 73081 dark bluish grey -> light bluish grey

2 x 3062 bright green -> lime

2 x 4073 bright green -> lime

2 x 98138 bright green -> lime

2 x 2412 light bluish grey -> silver metallic

1 x 3666 earth orange -> reddish brown

2 x 3023 earth orange -> reddish brown

2 x 3066 -> 3010

2 x 12825 -> 2555

4 x 55982 light bluish grey -> white

all trans-clear windows -> trans-black

6 x 85984 light bluish grey are missing

4 x 15570 silver metallic are missing

2 x 54200 silver metallic are missing

1 x 3039 print is missing

Maybe there are some other issues I haven't found.

I suggest to review or rebuild your model to have a 100% regular entry.

I've hunted a bit and it seems as if no-one's made any of the Ninja Turtles film sets? Maybe I'll give them a go...

There are many Ninja Turtles sets, as you can see looking at the index, in the first page of this topic. :classic:

Yes, but not the new ones from the film. I've made an LDD version of 79116 Big Rig Snow Getaway, which seems not to be here already- I just need to sort it out so it can be posted up here... :wink:

Oh, yes, maybe the new ones have not been built yet.

Note that the building instructions have to be officially released if you want that the set is accepted here (about 79116 I just checked, instructions are available on the LEGO website).

If you think to contribute to this topic, don't forget to carefully read the rules in the first page and take a look at other regular entries as example.

Should I post it under Teenge Mutant Ninja Turtles or just Ninja Turtles?

It's ready to go as soon as my Brickset files are public...

At the moment, the index is based on Bricklink categories, but you can use Brickset, if you prefer.

About Brickshelf, you don't need to wait that your gallery is public, because brickset allows immediately available hotlinks and you have to provide a direct link both for the image and the lxf file.

For any further question, contact me in private.

@Flobnomdob

Very good post for a first entry!

I only have to ask you a better crop for the image (look at the mzoli post above here as example).

PS: the set is not huge but it is very "large", so you can choose a larger size for the image if you want.

@marco9999

Same request for you too, it seems you forget to remove the the horizontal stripes from the image.

EDIT: perfect, thanks!

Garage doors actually do work. The trick is to add them to the model one piece at a time-- for instance, if you want the garage doors closed, place the bottom piece as low as it can be placed, then attach the next piece and so on. I did it on a Fire Brigade I made (unfortunately, I got stalled when I got to the roof layer and someone else did that set anyway).

Another way is to keep the entire door together,but have the top link at a 45 degree angle inwards when you place it in the frame. It saves time.

85969 is probably a better replacement, since it has a similar diameter. However, this wheel cover is easy to miss, because for some reason it doesn't actually appear in the "wheels" category!

Yes, 85969 looks definitely better.

42030 - Volvo L250F Wheel Loader (Model A) - Theme: Technic

[Brickset] [Bricklink] [Peeron] [LEGO.com]

Substitutions:

Bricks not included in LDD at the time creating that model were either replaced with similar parts or omitted:

The big bucket and two motors are missing.

Remarks:

  • This set relies heavily on stickers. Since LDD does not support them at the time this model was crafted, they were omitted. Keep that in mind when rendering that set.
  • One of the 117 bright blue Conn.Bush W.Fric./Crossale (4206482) is leftover: I double-checked if I missed it somewhere, but have not yet found where it actually belongs.
  • I decided not to replace the big bucket nor the missing motors with custom solutions, since that would look even worse than the current concoction.
  • I'm not certain if the linear actuators 61927 (4638507) are correctly coloured: I used 309 Silver metallic for the moveable parts, but I am uncertain if that's actually right.
  • I'll post the Model B later when it's done.

Thanks Pbat and great job! :classic:

I see you had to turn some of the wheels a little to get the gears to mesh....which gives the result that the models "floats" a little in the air (as expected). I hope the LDD Team has to look at that issue in the future, so that the boundary box doesn't "lower" the scene floor like that.

I noticed that many of the "light stone grey" colored bricks are given in the model as old light grey instead.

you can update that I just wanted to get the window fix in that was it, I was gonna update it with the actual colors from the set.
