Jakorin Swiftsword Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Built for Category B for the Men's side. Jakorin was well aware of the danger that the dwarves' presence created. But time was short, and by the time he could deliver the message to the elves, the dwarves might have already decided to strike. A risk that could not be taken. So, he concocted a plan that would not promote bloodshed. At least not right away, that is. Jakorin, disguised as a simple Anvilon soldier along with a disguised War Minister Charles, approached the dwarves camp as "deserters". Upon arrival, they told the dwarven leaders of mounds of gold and gems stashed away in the Anvilon treasury. That, naturally, caught their attention. Leaving a minor official in charge of the camp, the three dwarf brothers departed with the "deserters" to a place they liked to simply call The Vault Tower. Charles:(Whispers to Jakorin) Are you sure you want to do this, sir? Jakorin:(Whispers back) Don't worry, I had our riches moved to another location months ago. Nothing in that tower but cobwebs and termites. 1st Dwarf:(Panting) Alright, you men! This tower better be it, 'cus I'm tired of walkin'! 2nd Dwarf: Remember, this treasure of your people is to be split evenly down the line between us. No funny business! Jakorin: None at all, friend! But as you can see, the foolish ruler of Anvilon cannot afford a simple ladder. But fear not, for I have brought a grapple! Jakorin fiddles with the rope, uncoiling it slowly as the eager dwarves watch on. Then, he begins to swing the rope in a wide arc until he slings it with enough momentum to get firmly hooked on the platform above. He tugs a few times to ensure its safety. Jakorin: Alright! Looks like we're all se- 3rd Dwarf: Step aside, hooligan! My brothers and I will climb this rope first! Don't want you cutting the rope from above as we climb. The dwarves didn't give Jakorin any time for a rebuttle, for they all hungered for the sight of foreign gold for the taking. Instead, they all hustled up the rope, ignoring the small torch Jakorin pulled from his bags. Once at the top, the three dwarves looked down on the men with mild interest. 1st Dwarf: Well come on, then, idiots! We're wasting time! Hey! Wait! What are you doing!? Jakorin had lit the torch and set its flame to the rope. The rope ignited instantly, the flames snaking its way faster than the dwarves could pull it up. Soon, three-fourths of the rope had vanished, leaving little for the dwarves to hope for. 3rd Dwarf: You treacherous snakes!!!! I'll have you heads for this! Jakorin: I'm the snake?! You're in our lands, camping on our soil! A sure prelude to war! This way, no one gets hurt and your army will be stalled without you for a while. Don't worry, We stored some food in that tower. But, its on the top floor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, thanks for looking! Category B was really fun to build for and this turned out to be my tallest build yet! Quote
Hobbythom Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Great idea and lovely slender tower! Quote
Slegengr Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Nice build, Jakorin! The story is great, with an interesting way to stop the dwarves! The tower looks nice, especially the corners and its slenderness. I also like the ground foliage and trees. One part I see possible improvement is the roof-line of the tower. The gaps at the ridge and under the eaves are noticeable. Is there some way those could be avoided, possibly using tiles like the half-timbered portion? Brick on, Jakorin! Quote
mccoyed Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Gorgeous build and great little story. I love how this challenge is inspiring a lot of Historican pranksterism. Quote

SarahJoy Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Nice, clean build, and an entertaining story. I'd say the tower looks a bit out of proportion -- too tall -- but it fits the story well! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 A fine build indeed! Just one question: Why are there no windows? Quote
Garmadon Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Great build and story, Jakorin, excellent idea to stall the dwarfs for a while Very nice foliage, rock-work and minifig posing here, though I agree that the tower is a little tall for its size Quote
