xenologer Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) This may be a little odd coming from a mainly Space guy, but: "Farmer's Harvest" The farmer rides his tractor to market. Has a trailer with an apple and 'cabbage'(exo hair). Cost 5.49$USD(note, Factory lists as 31 bricks, since the Farmer himself is 4 parts) Originally I was trying to make one of those little oldschool classic red tractors (6608), but when I hit the parts limit I found that I had to make the wheels equal sized(uneven wheels means you take up an extra plate to level the body). With 4 equal wheels, it seemed more like a modern tractor hence the blue color and modern sloped nose. Being an LDD set.. the parts selection is not that new, mainly I'd buy it for the crate, apple, and blue slope. as semi-rare parts. For the most part tho it plays off nostalgia value and the fact that we just dont have any farmers in our towns of cops and firemen lately... Edited March 18, 2008 by xenologer

iamded Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) Okay, now my entries! I reposted my Ork entry as I had some problems with my Brickshelf folder. City and Space I chose City for mine, a nice park scene. (Like that hasn't been done before. :-| :-P) Set includes an elderly man enjoying a nice walk, a bench with some foliage, and a statue in remembrance of the famous Hinckley's Sail-boat. Old man Johnson has gone for a nice walk in the park, but while he admires the lovely statue, the wind blows his hat away! Can he get it back! You decide! :-P Set has 18 pieces and minifig. History, Adventure and Pirates I chose my beloved Castle line for this one. Not totally satisfied with the Skeleton Chariot Impulse coming out, I decided to make one I'd really love to see! Set includes a table with food, a camp fire, and a barrel of weapons. The good knights were enjoying a nice feast, but were called away for an emergency. A stray Skellie wandered upon the camp site, and found a nice place to rest and a delicious meal awaiting him! Set has 19 pieces and a minifig. Licensed I took advantage of what the rules said and made my own theme for this one; Warhammer 40,000! Set includes an Ork post to demoralise enemies, some Orky bitz (tyres and barrel), a crate for weapons, and an Ork Slugga Boy! Collect an army of Ork Boyz and build up a mighty WAAAGH!! (That's WH40K slang there... X-D) Set has 27 pieces and a minifig. Peace ~iamded Edited March 22, 2008 by iamded

brickchic Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Here's my entry for the history, adventure & pirates section (mine is classed as adventure). I call it "Bittersweet Discovery". Landlubber convinced me to try an entry but didn't mention that I should try not to use baseplates (not an actual rule - more of a suggestion) :-$ . Well I did say; Try to build something similar to the real impulse sets; that is don't include parts like a baseplate as it would make the set too expensive and the box too big. That sound like a rule to me, especially since it was rule number one. -Sinner Aside from that I'm pretty happy with it. I was surpised I could come up with such a substantial looking set using only the max 27 peices.
brickchic Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Entry for the Licensed section. Theme: Harry Potter Title: Ron's Secret Study Parts: 27 plus minifig
Shadows Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Kept this one very simple and definitely within the bounds of reason for an Impulse set. A useful little addition to any expanding town, our friendly construction worker directs traffic around a Construction Detour. Includes: Bob, the happy construction worker (hey, he's directing traffic, it beats digging a ditch) Barricade A safety orange crate Shovel Pick axe Radio Traffic safety sign Lamp post Between groups of cars, he dreams of being a rock star and practices on his safety sign. Or, in Haiku style (really, more Senryū style, but with the changes in both formats over time, perhaps neither. Let's just call it good old-fashioned 5-7-5 poetry *wacko* ): Bob directs traffic With dreams of being a star Watch out for that bus!
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Here's my entry for the City and Space section: Set contains 24 parts including minifig, the baseplate I used doesn't belong to the set. ;-)
El Bucanero Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Very well, here's my entry for the History, Adventure and PIRATES section. I vaguely remember buying some Playmobil "set" wich is similar to impulse sets a long while ago. I very loosely based this on that set. The set itself is quite simple and doesn't contain a lot of pieces. We've had Captain Red Beard in the past already, so I chose for a new pirate captain, Captain Red Beard's son: Captain Red Hair!! (Take THAT captain Green Hair!! :-P ) A new outfit but yet with the traditional Hook, peg leg and Skull and Crossbones hat. (rubbish box art...) Another shot: 14 pieces + Captain: Including everything a starting pirate captain could wish for!
Batbrick Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Yay! Final entry just in time: Theme: History- Castle Name: Giant Troll lunch Pieces: 27 including troll pieces Price: $7 Aud The Giant troll eats his luch, enjoying his lovely chicken leg but not his brown carrots! :-X While eating he can read his fan mail and enjoy his pet rat, Sammy. He then brushes his two canines, a good troll has to stay clean you know! The pieces, all 27, I'm quite happy with this one. To the Batbrick Cave! >:-)
Hinckley Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Here are my two entries: Theme: Pirates Set Name: Ghost Pirate Pieces: 25 + figure Note: I counted the four gold pieces as one piece as that is usually how LEGO seems to count it. However, if that's a problem, I could remove a gold coin... Hidden deep in a cave, the treasure is guarded by an angry ghost! Only the bravest Pirates dare to plunder it's riches... ( :-| ) Theme: Town (Fabuland) Set Name: Copmike Takes a Bath Pieces: 24 + figure After a hard day of arresting bad guys, Copmike is ready to relax in a nice hot bath in his pink bathroom. Don't forget to scrub behind your ears! :-D "Who's a pretty boy?" :-$ I have to admit I based this set on the classic Peter Panda Takes a Bath. I more came up with the idea when I found the all white Fabuland torso and then remembered there was a similar official set, but I think it's fair everyone's aware of that set before the voting starts. Oh, and right back at ya' Copmike! Pink War On!! >:-)
Stealth Hunter Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 My last minute entry for the castle section: Contains 27 pieces and a MF.Includes Blacksmith, anvil, oven and accessoires.

CopMike Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 My Licensed Impulse set is from Superman (that´s me in the spandexsuit with red cape :-P!): Just finished changing clothes from ordinary copmike to SuperDog. No way anyone can reveal my secret identity! Old school telephone with Fabuland handset. 25 pieces. Disguise On copmike
Klaus-Dieter Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) I sadly posted my Impulse set in the wrong topic - so I hope it'll be allowed to participate in the contest although the time is over. :'-) Regrettably I did not manage to join BS until now - so I'm only able to show you one of my Impulse sets I wanted to design and present you :'-( . Here is my Castle Impulse set: Medieval Market Stand It includes a farmer, a market stand, some vegetables, a shovel and a box - the perfect addition for the/a Castle theme! The set contains 26 parts and one minifig: The head of the farmer is printed on both sides so that it can be turned in order to use the farmer as male or as female minifigs - don't you think that'll be a handy and nice idea?! ;-) I hope you like it since it is my first self-designed Impulse set. *sweet* Edited March 22, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter
xwingyoda Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Okie peg leg *yoda* strikes just before the contest closes X-D I'll start with my SW impulse set. I wanted to have the most annoying impulse set ever !! So I thought, what really would piss SW nerds such as myself ? And the answer is crystal clear... Therefore feast your eyes on Jar Jar's boomas' catapult Impulse. It comes with Jar Jar, 3 boomas and a catapult !! It contains fig + 16 parts (10 for the catapult and 6 for the boomas). The only thing lacking to be the ultimate annoying impulse set is a DSS :-D Let the battle of Naboo begin !! Then I wanted to do the less politically correct entry !! I wanted a pirate bar prostitute impulse but my lack of said fig was a problem !! Therefore I found a sweet native chick so I remained in the same theme. Feast you eyes on Inquisition Sex Slave Trade Impulse. Yes the bloody inquisition is to blame for bringing these poor native girls !! The set come with a prostitute stand, 2 handcuffs and a native girl !! It comproses the fig and 18 parts. Enjoy and do not hesitate to post comment in the other thread ;-) *yoda*
