Thanks for the heads up, darthperson! It looks like trains are definitely slowly being revived, and the Western Train sounds like heaven for the Train Tech and Historical forums.

Does this mean that the Soldier Battle Pack is coming out in March and not January?

Cool! Thanks Darthperson! Strange to see that the army men set is a march set, considering we have seen the set already, but none of the other march sets, but I guess that's because the rest are TS3 sets and are being held tightly under wraps. I would have hoped for some more TS3 sets, but maybe there will be some later on. My thoughts about the new sets:

7596 Alien Crane and Trash Compactor: Not sure what this could be, but it's probably from TS3. It sure sounds cool though! can't wait to see a pic.

7597 Western train: Hmm... a train. Not a big fan of those. However, I can imagine it to be a well designed set, and if this gets more people to buy sets from this theme, I'm fine with it.

7789 Lotso.s Truck Not sure about this one either. It has a strange set number and could be any size of set. It could either be the signature vehicle of one of the new toy characters from TS3 and therefore be a small minifig scale set, or it could be a human vehicle, meaning it would be a rather large set. I guess time will tell.

And so, the wait for prelim pics begins...

No, they didn't, which is why this must be from TS3. Unless there is some translation error in the name of the set.

Who wasn't. Seriously though, Zurg's fortress was never in the movies, so it's unlikely we will ever see that (or anything from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command for that matter) as a set.

Wow! Thanks for that info, Dunjohn! Now we can at least imagine what that set could look like. Seems like it will simply be a small truck with a Lotso fig. Can't wait to see the first Teddy bear minifig!

I meant the scene from the computer game at the start of Toy Story 2, with the hovering platforms. Though, they probably wouldn't be able to fit the spike corridor and the 5,000,000 super battledroids....

What I love about Lego is that you will never have the problem of immobile legs or big green bases getting in the way of the Army Men driving those jeeps.

I don't know what to think of Lotso. I kind of hope he is a minifigure, be he would have to be one with a Chewbacca styled headpiece, I think, to better show the 'Teddy Bear' resemblence.

Well, TLG has already said that they are making more trains this year, so in a sense, they are reviving trains, but not just because of this. I'm actually pretty excited to see a new train, especially with this theme. Assuming that it will be some type of a western train, it shouldn't be too hard to mod hit to look like that one from The Last Crucade. I'll just have to wait for pics to see how similar it is, but I have a feeling that it's going to look, well, cartoony.

I must say that, out of all the pictures we have seen so far, the Toy Story sets are the only ones that truly have impressed me. While most of the other stuff is just rehashes or not interesting to me, the Toy Story sets honestly really impressed me when I first saw them. The playsets themselves are excellent, with lots of bright colors and great pieces and structures. And the giant action figures just blew me away - I don't care that they have big pre-fabricated molds for the heads, but I do care that they are mostly system built and really resemble the characters well. Plus, you can't go wrong with a giant purple set with new pieces in that rare and prized color.

Well, that wasn't his fortress, just a trap he set up for Buzz. It was on a random asteroid in Gamma Quadrant Sector 4 whereas Zurg's fortress is on Planet Z. (Yes, I am a PIXAR nerd. )

But yeah, it would be nice to see that at some point. It could be a set in the style of 7623 Temple Escape and include the trap door, a short coridor with the spiky moving wall, some round 2x2 plates on a trans clear plate (representing the hover bridge) which collapses, and the round main platform with the battery hologram. It could include Buzz, Zurg, and maybe a couple of those "battle droids".

Joker's Rocket indeed. In fact, I'm already planing to make a spaceship for Zurg from those parts.

That was my point. They may well bring back Trains, but just because there are some in this theme does not immediately make this a sign of that revival. (Wow, that sounded weird; Sign of the Times. )

That's what makes me think he might even be brick built, but I really hope not, even though it would be more pink bricks for us. He could just be one of those new Jumbo-Torso's/Arms like Woody has, but I still think something else is needed to make him a little more rounded, like an actual Teddy Bear.

Wow. Very exciting!

It looks to me from the bottom center of the confidential box like they're packing in 3D glasses. I assume to tie in with the Toy Story 1 and 2 3D re-release.

Also, I had first hoped from the other confidential box that Zurg's Actruction Figure would have a pneumatic blaster... then with this pic I thought the little yellow Technic nut was a trigger... anybody know how Zurg would shoot his Nerf ball?

The blaster fires by pulling down on the three-pronged 'gear'. It does indeed hurt the fingers though.

That gun Zurg has is one of the bionicle ball shooters from the Phantoka sub-theme.

I'm wondering if there are any close up shots of Buzz around ?

The giant zurg doesn't look that great but it still is quite nice that it has lots of purple and is made of regular bricks.
