Blakbird Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Recently there's been some discussion on the instructions for the 8448 Super Street Sensation. The set comes with printed instructions for the convertible top and for gull wing doors. There are also instructions for the mechanisms of 4 other models on the same chassis. However, the instructions for the bodies of these 4 models were not included and had to be downloaded from LEGO. Thankfully, I had done so years ago and had printed them out. After many requests and lots of scanning, I have made these instructions available. There are deep links below to the files on Brickshelf. I've also uploaded them to Peeron, but I don't know how long it will take for them to show up. Enjoy everyone! Hot Rod Buggy Concept Car Racer Quote
Conchas Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Thanks Eric! This was very nice from your part. 66 pages scanned... Quote

Blakbird Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 Thank you very much! I really appreciate the work you have done! I'm glad you like it. Actually, I had forgotten that I even had these. I only found them when some questions came up and I started rummaging around through the box. It is a good thing I printed them since I seem to have lost the source files. Quote
Aliencat Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Thanks a lot for this Eric! This helps out greatly! :D I'll buy you a drink in Seattle next month. Quote

Blakbird Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 Now, it just rests to ask for the 8458 (Silver Champion) online instructions, of the third LEGO official model (2nd alternate)... Didn't I post that a long time ago? If not, here it is again: 8458c: Street SensationFernando, feel free to add this link to your blog along with the others. Quote
Conchas Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Have seen now your answer, Eric. Thanks! This just after looking for them in the net, and to have found these 8458 official alternante third model instructions (Street Sensation) at BrickFactory and Worldbricks. The latest is a new building instructions repository website for me, but for the BrickFactory I'm pretty sure to have searched for them before and not being there. Maybe they were added more recently!?... But adding them to the blog post, anyway. Thanks! Quote
pablo432 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Hi! First of all, I know the topic is very old, but I think I've got no other option ;P I still have my 8448 But I've got only instructions for convertible and wing-doors models. For alternative models I've got only instructions how to create a mechanism. Links in first post are damaged, I'll be really happy if someone can reupload them. Regards! Quote
DLuders Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Links in first post are damaged, I'll be really happy if someone can reupload them. I have all four of the #8448 Alternate Model instructions on my computer. If you send me an e-mail (LudersDG@MSN.com), I'll be glad to send them all to you. Each PDF file is just over 3 MB in size. Blakbird Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 thank you for these instruction. Do they exist in better quality? Anyway thanks a lot. Not really, no. The only reason we have them at all is that I happened to have printed out copies that I scanned back in. Some quality was lost in the process, however remember that these photos came from LEGO almost 2 decades ago and Internet bandwidth was small at the time. I don't think any of the images were over 600 pixels. Quote
AVCampos Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Actually, I happened to save the original images when they were online, and they managed to survive several hard disks until now. I have just uploaded them to Brickshelf here, so their folders aren't public yet. But meanwhile you can access the deeplinks, replacing the numbers at the end: Buggy: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AVCampos/Misc/8448/Buggy/und640x480us0buggystep00.jpg (00 to 16) Concept Car: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AVCampos/Misc/8448/Concept-Car/und640x480us0conceptstep00.jpg (00 to 14) Hot Rod: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AVCampos/Misc/8448/Hot-Rod/und640x480us0hotrodstep00.jpg (00 to 16) Racer: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AVCampos/Misc/8448/Racer/und640x480us0racerstep00.jpg (00 to 16) There are also instructions to "robotise" the 8448 with an RCX here. Since they're divided in subfolders and I guess you guys aren't that interested in them, I'll wait for the respective folder to become public instead of bothering to deeplink. Besides the standard version with gull-wing doors, I also built the Racer (I was lucky to win two 8448's in a contest at that time ). I remember it looked really good, but the front wheels rubbed against the ribbed hoses if the suspension was pressed too hard. Quote
