Diaaabo Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 iam currently working at a complete chassis, including headshaking. what do you think, all legged steering or only front leg steering? Only the front legs. Will that head movement be independent? Quote
efferman Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Only the front legs. Will that head movement be independent? only the front legs? a little bit boring i think. the head will shakes not independent. i try to turn the head to the left, when the AT-AT is turning left. Quote

efferman Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 there is no big difference. if you wait for my chassis, let the rear axle simply like the original. Quote
Diaaabo Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 there is no big difference. if you wait for my chassis, let the rear axle simply like the original. Even part-wise? Well, do what you have in mind, as simple as possible Quote
efferman Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) i try that the backside is compatible, but i could nothing promise. big edit: it fits to the rear leg construction of the 10178. Currently i didnt know if the battery box fits. tommorow i will built the legs and i try a little testwalk The Brickshelf Folder of this mod (when it is online) Edited August 30, 2010 by efferman Quote
efferman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Sorry for the doubleposting, but i think it is worth it walks and steers, but it is not perfect. the Ms are to wide in front: they collide with base of the hull. this will solved in the next revision the turning Circle is a little bit big: this will be solved by the all leg steering. the colours of the legs are wrong: i have said it would not looks like an AT-AT Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Its a good try. I agree with AWS, less angle is needed. Quote
Siegfried Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Sorry for the doubleposting, but i think it is worth Indeed it is. I think it looks quite similar to the video I posted above! If anything it's too manoeuvrable! Great work! Quote
Milan Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Nice work. I am amazed at what speed you are making these improvements! And by helping everybody, you are some kind of Technic-Fairy Quote
efferman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Indeed it is. I think it looks quite similar to the video I posted above! If anything it's too manoeuvrable! Great work! yes, it looks really wobbly i think the decission, to let the head moving with the steering, was a good one. so it could look in the direction that i want. Thanks Milan Inventing with lego technic is pure relaxing for me. maybe this is the reason. Edited August 31, 2010 by efferman Quote
Diaaabo Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Amazing! That looks really great, I hope I can reply it with my parts. Thank you very much! Although I am new around here, I would suggest a new title for you: Technic-Fairy Quote
efferman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 thanks guys i am many things, but a fairy? Quote
dolittle Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Hi, Amazing work man! I am very impressed The color of the legs can be fixed with custom bricks, or redone bricks, but I think that is a minor issue at this point I think the wobbling is occurring as there is more than one foot above the floor at a time and not enough weight on the model to make sure that the other feet stay on the floor Can you try to add additional weight? Quote
efferman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Currently iam working at the second version. the chassis is more stable, more compact, and the ALS is added. it hink the added hull (hopefully not ugly) is additional weight enough. that is no design project, it must only work properly. The design comes when iam have bought the set. Edited August 31, 2010 by efferman Quote
-JD- Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) That is so awesome! Well done! I think it looks fine wobbling a bit. Do I have permission to try and replicate this myself for my AT-AT? Edited August 31, 2010 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
efferman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 wait until the final version is finished. Quote
Masked Builder Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Great work! I can't wait to see the finished Moc! Quote
efferman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 holy moly, is this a huge head a new vid will come tomorrow good night Quote
efferman Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) bad news guys: the Vid of the new revision must wait. i have a big design error in the drivetrain. The Weight of the complete AT-AT is to heavy and the legs are losing their synchronisation. unfortunately i need now a complete redesign. Dont use the old one, it will collapse. Edited September 1, 2010 by efferman Quote
efferman Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) the drivetrain is now strong enough. But now i have new problems Edited September 2, 2010 by efferman Quote
efferman Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I give up! Moving and turning forward works fine, but backwards the 10178 is capricious. Sometimes it works (on hard surfaces) and sometimes (on carpet) i could think the alliance has invisible snowspeeders. if someone wants pics from the chassis, simply say that you want them. maybe one of you could solve the problem. JunkstyleGio Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Don't give up yet! Maybe some of the people here can give you some help! Great work so far! Quote
