Randal Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Image was doctored BTW, there is no classic yellow smiley head. (hello Lego? Put that head in future LDD please!) While a background has been added, there has been no modification to the face. EDIT by ADMIN: Image removed. Quote

yellost Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 (edited) I know it's already been done by Aanchir but I wanted to get the feel of building that set for myself. So here it is : 10213 - Shuttle Adventure As a bonus, you get everything in one file instead of 3 a little creativity went into the solar panels of the satellite, and a few pices didn't fit inside the shuttle. I also couln't find the pylon pieces used for the spotlight stands. Lastly, I'm not sure if the orangish-brown color of the main reservoir tank is the right one. LXF File Nice job getting it all in one file! I tried, but my computer couldn't handle moving and placing such huge sections in place. I could have probably done it piece-by-piece if I wanted, but I didn't have the patience. I recommend downloading Superkalle's LDD Manager if you ever need help finding pieces. For checking colors, I recommend downloading the files from Superkalle's LDD Color Chart. I myself have memorized which colors are which for most colors that appear in today's sets, and hopefully this can help you get a better feel for how the colors are organized in the palette. And yes, I know how utterly ridiculous it is trying to fit the satellite into the shuttle. I had to really goof around with hinges and clips for a long time before I got it to work. Quote

I didn't know about that colour chart trick, but I do use Superkalle's LDD Manager. Fantastic tool indeed. It's just that sometimes I'm too lazy, because I still need to go to peeron, find a set that has the piece I'm looking for (and wait for Peeron to load... That site is one slow animal, I tell you...) and then I still have to find the piece inside the tool palette because they're not always that obvious... I only found the flickfire piece entirely by mistake while searching for something else even though I have been through that stack many times... Anyway, I just love whining about programs that I love using In any case, I updated my LXF File in my original post with the right color and the right pieces for the pylons and flickfire... Quote
Aanchir Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 damn, I was so sure it looked dark red in the instructions... ah well... Instruction scans-- even LEGO's official ones-- often distort the colors, making regular green look like bright green and so forth. That's why when I build a set on LDD I always keep the Bricklink inventory open in another window. I can double-check if a part exists in the set in the right color and quantity, so I don't run the risk of the part being the wrong color or shape. Quote

Calabar Posted October 1, 2010 Author Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Here's my 2011 sets! Can you provide a link to verify these sets? With classic sets it is not necessary, but for new sets it is difficult to find a reference! PS: About 3366 Test Rocket set, do you think to complete it soon? Edited October 1, 2010 by Calabar Quote
BrickWild Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 PS: About 3366 Test Rocket set, do you think to complete it soon? I hope so when the set is officially announced and instructions are available! Quote
Calabar Posted October 1, 2010 Author Posted October 1, 2010 I hope so when the set is officially announced and instructions are available! You mean you built these sets without instructions? I'm not sure I'll index set built without official instructions, they could contain too many inaccuracies. I've to talk about it with Superkalle. PS: anyway, when you'll update that, post about the update in the topic, so I'll add the sets to the index if I've not done it already. Quote
Superkalle Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Well, I have to agree with Calabar 1) You cannot upload reverse-engineered sets that are not released. The 3366 images found on the internet for example are marked "confidential" and as a rule here Eurobricks we don't post such images. You may link to them, but not deeplink images or upload images at the EB server. And creating an LDD version of such un-released set is basically the same as a photo of it. 2) When re-creating official sets, you need to use the official instructions as a base line. Perhaps the 3366 was easy to do, but it's not always you see the internal structure of a model. So, I'm sorry, but I have to remove these pics from your post. Hope you see the reason and that you are OK with it. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) It's been a while since i posted some models here, but i've been busy with building with the real bricks for some time no. Here's the 4841 Enchanted Car from the new Harry Potter Series! LDD file Edited October 2, 2010 by JunkstyleGio Quote
Calabar Posted October 2, 2010 Author Posted October 2, 2010 @JunkstyleGio It seems that there no available instruction for that set, so it's the same I told to BrickWild: the set cannot be added to the index until official instructions are not available and the set is not built using that. PS: but.. is the set complete? Or it is only part of 4841? PPS: please resize the image following guidelines (max 512 pixel size). Quote
Lego Otaku Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 @JunkstyleGio It seems that there no available instruction for that set, so it's the same I told to BrickWild: the set cannot be added to the index until official instructions are not available and the set is not built using that. PS: but.. is the set complete? Or it is only part of 4841? It's out, I personally saw them at both Lego store and at Toys R Us. It is not complete however, the set also includes a train with engine, tender, and 1 passenger car. So 4841 is officially out, and the above model should be listed as incomplete for now unless Junk adds the rest of the train set or someone else makes train set and combines with the car. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 The set is out and the building instructions are available at the customerpage at the lego site! Will do a resize of the picture! And if you guys are patience I will do the rest of the model as well. (Except when a real HP fan is happy to do it for me) Quote

I'm back after another long time of not posting any sets. Before I continue the Star Wars story, I'd like to share some of the lovely new Harry Potter sets.
