I built the Hogwarts Express from scratch along with the others, so that is complete.

Hogwarts Castle will be completed when instruction book 1 is added to the site.

Your posts are perfectly regular, so don't worry! ;)

The tag "Incomplete" is added because I took the names from my "index list", where I pin extra infos useful to create the index.

Absolutely great work!

If I would have taken up this job my laptop would have ended in the trashbin....

I totally agree! Great and FAST work - and creative alternatives to missing bricks!

Another set, 8264 the hauler. Build was without major bugs, the only bug, which has to do something with LA's unable to rotate is that the LA is removed while loading model, but can easily be reinserted... No parts missing!

Name: Hauler

Theme: technic

Year relased: 2009

Pieces: 575

The 4842 Hogwarts Castle is now complete. I've updated it on the previous page. :sweet:

Very good work!

Could you add to your post a direct link to the post where the castle is?

(so that it is immediately reachable, and because reference to pages can change after a "cleaning" of the topic).

@Zblj

your last post is irregular too: image is too big, and set's data are not highlighted.

After voting in the Harry Potter set remake poll in the Licensed Themes forum, I took to making a Harry Potter set I was surprised not to find in the index:

5378 Hogwarts Castle, the sole set from the 2007 Harry Potter line.

5378_hogwarts_castle.png

LXF File

Errors:

  • All prints and stickers are missing, besides the letter inside the mailbox. Parts that should have unavailable prints and stickers have been left blank.
  • Harry Potter's hair piece and Hagrid's body piece are unavailable and have been left out of the model.
  • The warm gold Belville perfume bottles (which come on a sprue in the set) are unavailable and have been left out of the model.
  • Various parts were difficult to place correctly: the black broomstick (should be in the hidden closet in Umbridge's office), the feather quill (should be in the inkwell in Umbridge's office), the book (should be closed and hidden under the green bed), the silver armor piece (should go on the gray and silver suit-of-armor), the red ball joint (should appear inside the treasure chest as a Quaffle), and Dumbledore's hair. All have been left in front of the model near the minifigures.
  • All parts in colors that are not available on LDD have been colored the currently non-existent color #322 (a bluish-green color). This includes the two halberds in the entrance hall (should be speckled black and dark silver), the platter on the second floor (should be metallic gold), and the lightning bolt on the first floor (should be co-injected with #42 transparent light blue and #126 transparent bright bluish violet)

Overall, a fun build. Not the most beautiful set in the Harry Potter theme, but it's certainly a lot better than the impression I had of it while it was still out.

Updated to LDD 4

Hi everyone, here's my first contribution.

8671 Ferrari 430 Spider 1:17

ferrari_430_spider_1-17.png

The LXF File

Not much to note here. I couldn't find the 5-prong hubcaps so those have been omitted, and the engine hood in the back won't quite close all the way thanks to what seems like a clipping error. I tried just building flat off the hinge and the pieces still wouldn't go over the tile, so I think there's a height discrepancy.

It's a pretty fun build, but the lack of real doors is a bit disappointing and it doesn't look as good without the stickers on it.

10213 - Shuttle Adventure

The only things missing that I can think of are the actuators on the landing gear (because they prevent landing gear rotation), the satellite fins (because I couldn't find them), and two random pieces (because when I opened it back up it said it removed 2 incorrectly placed pieces).

Lining up the launch pad and ship was a pain. I didn't put the satellite in the shuttle because it was driving me nuts.

Unfortunately the LXF file is 200 K so the forum won't let me post it.

Good work with that shuttle! And welcome to the LDD forum.

But to have a close look at your work, we need that LXF-file :classic:

You need to setup an account at for example BrickShelf.com (free), and post the LXF-files there. Then you can link to them. The file system at Eurobricks only allows very small files for temporary use.

Whoopsies, sorry about that! I replaced it with the proper size.

I do have a question and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but, I have built several older sets which are entirely accurate... minus a couple parts that weren't in LDD. I know it's not a big deal but since some of these were larger or important (Such as the cabin pieces of the Rock Raiders sets and the Insectoid Legs) I just built substitutes. Would those still be alright to post in, or no? I'm not sure what the border there would be.

About your question, many sets made in LDD has custom parts, as LDD have not all necessary parts to built that!

And that's a part of the fun, so that identical sets made by different users can reach the goal with different clever solutions!

PS: as told in topic rules, if you use a custom brick to replace a missing brick, you can post your brick here!

So, if you have other official sets made with LDD, you can post that here (or, if you want, you could wait for LDD 4.0 and overhaul that), but not all together please... I have to index that than!

Good job on succeeding putting it on the landing pad. I gave up trying when I tore my last strands of hair...

I got two, today...

Now I can't wait till they release the instructions for the Tower Bridge :sweet: I want a big challenge...

Updated to LDD 4

Thank you! With that, I think I'll use this post to submit...

4970 Chrome Crusher - Theme: Rock Raiders

lddscreenshot11.png

Download the LXF!

It's built as absolutely close to set specifications as LDD would allow, although I had to use 5 custom parts (All of which can be seen and detailed in This Post). There were no tubes of the proper length so I put a 2-long tube segment at each attach point. All the custom pieces no doubt seriously increased the part count, but the shape is pretty darn close. Also, I made sure to use the proper old greys and old brown so colour accuracy is set.

LDD4 Fix: Chain has been attached in it's proper place.

I actually have all the other Rock Raider sets built and finished as well... but I'm going to wait until LDD4 on those, just in case a couple of the parts I had to custom are actually included. I'd rather not have to re-post and bother you all with going through all those!
