Superkalle Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Nice to see! Seems to be croped image from something bigger. Is this a confidential pic (has confidential stamped across)? Quote

The Yellow Brick Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Looks Interesting, I don't think I'll be getting it though Quote
simonwillems Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 It looks a bit like a store-promo, are you sure it will be part of the Architecture line? If the latter is true I am forced to buy it, having all other Architecturesets (but the White House) It's a really tiny scale as well, but a building on the scale of the Empire Statebuilding model would have been quite big... Quote
Ricecracker Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 That's an interesting set, Grogall. I don't really see the Rockefeller centre as an architectural marvel, but then again, I'm not in charge of LEGO's marketing department . Thanks for showing it to us! This set will be released around the time when the new store is opened in New York The store opened back in July. Quote
prateek Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 ??? It's just a bunch of bricks and plates stacked up. No detail whatsoever. Hopefully this will change. Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 ??? It's just a bunch of bricks and plates stacked up. No detail whatsoever. Hopefully this will change. If you look clossley there is some detail with headlight brick or I am seeing things ... But I am still disappointed with it Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I hope this is not the real thing, and nor do I believe this is the right thing. Exactly what Prateek said. The only reason I would get it is for the tan pieces. Quote
whung Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Images of 21007 from Shop@home Cache: 21007 Rockefeller Center 240 pieces Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Thanks for sharing the hi-res pics whung, but this one really looks plain and boring - like what prateek said, it's just a bunch of tan bricks and tiles stacked together with no details whatsoever. Previous architecture models were better in terms of aesthetics, they should have just chosen another model instead of this one. Quote
jonwil Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 If they are looking for architecture, maybe they should do a model of whatever building is going where the WTC used to stand (that's if they finally decided what to put there) Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 THanks for pics, but its still just pieces stacked on top of each other! No detail what so ever. I wonder how much it will sell for. Quote
prateek Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Wow. One of the worst sets in a long time. I see some SNOT, but not enough to wow me. Quote
Flare Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I don't know, I got Fallingwater and this looks like a good companion for it... Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 A nice little set. I've never been there but it looks pretty accurate. Quote
JimBee Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Well I think it's a lot more interesting-looking than the Sears Tower or the John Hancock Center. Those were just stacked bricks. At least this one has some cool SNOT techniques. I'm going to try to build it myself, though, just like the others. I'm not quite ready to fork over what they're asking for some basic bricks. Quote
frankfurterbub Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 (edited) Boring! So many fantastic skyscrapers around rockefeller center... But thanks for the image! Edited October 31, 2010 by frankfurterbub Quote
SilentMode Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I think it looks all right, but having seen the prices of the other Architecture sets I think I'll give it a miss. Quote
Skafte Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I kind of like how they've not tried to get rid of the lines between bricks - giving it a more "detailed" look. But as with all these little Architecture sets, it's not worth it for the bricks. With these, you (almost) only pay for the design. Quote
Aanchir Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I kind of like how they've not tried to get rid of the lines between bricks - giving it a more "detailed" look. But as with all these little Architecture sets, it's not worth it for the bricks. With these, you (almost) only pay for the design. Well, there's also the instruction booklet, which is spiral-bound and contains details about the building the set depicts. You can see the instructions online, but there's still some novelty to having it in reality. Plus, of course, the Architecture sets work great as gifts even for non-builders. You can click the instruction links here if you'd like a better idea of what the instruction manuals are like. You can see some good actual photos in the reviews here on Eurobricks. Quote
Section8 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 (edited) While the set itself is a bit boring, I'm glad to see they picked a building complex that is noted for its design as opposed to the last set, the White House, which is well-known but not an outstanding example of its architectural style. This will look good next to the Empire State model released before. Now they only need to release the greatest of New York's Art Deco masterpieces, the Chrysler Building, as a set! Adam the Ant Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 A very dull set and I have enough tan bricks from the tower bridge set, but thank you for the images. Quote
StoutFiles Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 The Lego Architecture line: the most overpriced sets there are. Unless you really, really like the building, I'd suggest never buying one. Quote
Mr. Gray Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 For all those saying that the set is too bland and tan, you have to remember the actual building of 30 Rock and the surrounding buildings are! Especially on this scale. The really interesting stuff happens on the inside of all these buildings. Especially 30 Rock. The only thing that sets it apart from other buildings is that it is HUGE and contains the HQ for one of America's biggest television companies. All the interesting stuff, like the strobe light elevator, the touch screen filled cafe, the NBC studios tours, it's all on the inside. However, I would've enjoyed a different building, even in person 30 Rock is a pretty boring building, and the other buildings are just scenery in this set. At this scale, it's nearly impossible to convey the craziness of Rockefeller center that makes it what it is. I might just get this set for the novelty of actually being there, though. TL;DR, It's a pretty boring place on the outside, and being on this scale is just making it more bland. Quote
