Calabar Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) @elmerohueso Hi. You should resize the image, maximum size allowed is 512x512 pixel. Besides you should insert well highlighted set's data (number - name - theme). PS: same issue for this post (image exceed maximum size). Could you fix both? Edited November 4, 2010 by Calabar Quote
Zeya Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) I think I want to do a vintage set for my sophomore effort. Something to hold me over until new Kingdoms sets come out. - 6071 Forestmen's Crossing Let me know if that's okay or any advice you more knowledgable people have. I don't see it listed in the index. I know that making the minfigs will probably be impossible to get the exact legs and body. Also the drawbridge and the special baseplate are a concern (especially the baseplate since it has a river printed on it). Edited November 4, 2010 by Zeya Quote
retroelectro666 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) Hi, everyone, it's my first post after lurking for a while as I get to grips with LDD. You guys seem to have a great community here! I think this set ahs already been posted, but I wanted to show how good it looked with the advanced shading of LDD 4. Can I only upload files of up to 100k? 21005: Fallingwater Theme: Architecture Edited November 4, 2010 by retroelectro666 Quote
Calabar Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) @retroelectro666 Hi and welcome! You probably lost the topic's rules you can find in the first page of the topic. For you the same I told to elmerohueso in the post above your (about image size and set's data). About sharing lxf file, forum attachment is not a good way. Great part of users uses a brickshelf account to store his/her works, other prefer a webspace they own, other uses file hosting services (adrive, for example). EDIT: avoid to use forum's attachment function for images too. You can use brickshelf boh for images and lxf files, or use a free image hosting provider such as imageshack for images only. Zerobricks Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) Want me to bend those chains arround? Edited November 4, 2010 by Zblj Quote
Aanchir Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) UPDATE 4/24/2011: Updated to LDD 4.1. A few days ago I built 8707 Boulder Blaster from the Power Miners theme. LXF file Errors: The treads (part 53992) cannot be flexed into shape over the wheels. They have been left to the side of the model. Part 30191 cannot be flexed over the engine and has been left to the side of the model. The white rubber band (part 85543) cannot be stretched over the Technic pins on the launcher and has been left to the side of the model. The shovel (3837) and pickaxe (3841) could not be easily made to rest naturally in the crate on the back. As with everything else, they have been left to the side of the model. Any parts whose prints are unavailable have been left blank. Edited April 24, 2011 by Aanchir Quote

Aanchir Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) UPDATE 4/24/2011: Updated to LDD 4.1. Another Power Miners set: 8962 Crystal King. LXF File Errors: The crystal/rock formations that belong on his shoulders cannot connect due to a dubiously legal System/Technic connection. They have been left to the side of the model. Superkalle, if you want a definite answer of whether the connection would cause any brick stress, ask Nabii-- he designed the set. Unavailable prints-- the Crystal King's eyes, the miners' torsos and legs, and the dark stone grey rock printing on the crystal formation wedge bricks (part 64867)-- have been left off the model entirely. The parts in question have been left blank. I'm enjoying Power Miners building with LDD 4.0, though I was disappointed in all the errors that prevented completion of the Thunder Driller. Aanchir Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I made this set: 4759 - three cristmas decorations - seasonal (NEW) Errors; only the eyes of Santa Claus. download HERE One mistake you missed: you used the wrong color green. An easy mistake to make if you're not familiar with LEGO's color naming system, but "Bright Green" is actually not "regular" green (even though "regular" red is Bright Red, etc). The color we usually just call "green" is in fact called 28 Dark Green by LEGO. That should be an easy fix. Anyway, yet another Power Miners set complete: 8958 Granite Grinder. LXF File Errors: All surfaces for which the correct prints are not available have been left blank. I had a dickens of a time trying to get the chain to realistically connect the main vehicle and the hauler tray. While I did get some more experience with how the flex tool works, I did not end up completing this as I intended. The hauler tray has been left to the side, along with its contents. The treads (43903) cannot be bent into the correct shape to fit the wheels. They have been left to the side of the model. The BIONICLE staff head (44818) is not available on LDD and has been left out of the model. The parts that should have connected to it (6628 Ball with Friction Snap and 85543 rubber band) have been left to the side of the model. Quote

marco9999 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) Some alternative versions from already posted set 4402: 4402 - Sea riders (version 2) - Creator Actually it is the first one in the instruction booklet. LXF 4402 - Sea riders (version 3) - Creator LXF Errors (both models): Wings 3933 and 3934 are missing. They have been replaced by parts 50304 and 50305 in version 2 and by 54383 and 54384 in version 3. UPDATED TO LDD 4.1.7 Edited May 11, 2011 by marco9999 Quote
Daedalus304 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Here's a couple more. 6942 Space Sled - Theme: Insectoids Download the LXF! Printed parts left blank (Except the face, couldn't bear to leave him blind), and either due to illegal building techniques or improper brick geometry two of the "leg" pieces won't connect where they should. I have them just sort of floating right underneath their proper spot, so all the parts are there. 4980 Tunnel Transport - Theme: Rock Raiders Download the LXF! Missing prints, had to use substitute bricks for both the cockpit and it's rollbar. The magnet holders are entirely missing so the magnets are just set aside. The rest should all be correct and dandy though. Quote
