Aanchir Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) UPDATE 4/24/2011: Updated to LDD 4.1. Just completed 8635 Mobile Command Center from the Agents theme. LXF file Errors: I could not get the light brick structure or the small ATV to fit in the trailer when it was closed. This is because the missiles connected to the ceiling would collide with both when the roof was closed. This is not a boundary error; it seems honestly as thought the roof cannot be closed when these two things are inside-- something I don't have any recollection of from the actual set. I need to double-check this problem next time I'm at home. The Technic pin joiners (64262) cannot attach to the 2x3 plates on the top of the cab. They have been left to the side of the model. 299 Lacquered Gold (BL's Metallic Gold) is not available on LDD. Gold Tooth's visor has instead been colored 148 Sand Yellow Metallic. The black gun placed to the side of the model is not there because of a placement error; rather, the instructions direct for it to be placed in Agent Charge's hand. They later contradict this by instructing that Agent Charge be placed in the good guy mini-flyer. The laptops (62698) cannot be folded, and thus do not fit inside the glass cabinet. They have been left to the side of the model. Not an egregious error, but the windscreen of the bad guy mini-flyer (47844) uses a click hinge, but cannot be placed at an exact interval of 22.5 degrees. This means that in the actual model it is under very slight strain. However, it is only slightly illegal-- the part I own has not suffered any ill effects. Any parts whose decorations are not available have been left blank. Overall, a difficult but successful build! Edited April 24, 2011 by Aanchir Quote

Superkalle Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 There is a new feature in LDD Manager that may be of use when building official sets. The feature allows you to import all bricks from a set-listing at BrickLink, and then create a LXF-file with them. That way you can save time by getting all bricks layed out in the correct colors. Tore M Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Index updated. Two small corrections. I believe the version of 6752 Fire Rescue that JunkstyleGio posted earlier is the second model in that set. And 7803 Jeep only has one version, not three as stated in the index. Superkalle Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Wow, I never knew about this feature. Thanks for sharing Superkalle! This will surely cut my LDD building time by more than 50%. It's actually new for the latest release of LDD Mnager. NOTE: There is a bug which means you can only use it for IE at the moment, but I will have a release out in a few days that support all browsers. Read more in the LDD Manager topic Quote

ADHO15 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Hi, where can I get these files? The links don't seem to work. Thanks. Sorry about that. I'm part way through updating them and have just removed the old pics and links. I'll update them now. Welcome to EB! Thanks for the interest. Edited November 8, 2010 by ADHO15 Quote
messiah1 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) *With a mighty thanks to Aanchir, these sets have been updated using the correct colors. Thanks for the help mate. 8188 Power Miners Fire Blaster A pretty easy build overall. .LXF --- 8189 Power Miners Magma Mech The only thing that I couldn't get to work was the gear, which is off to the side. It fit fine on the shaft but the drill wouldn't mesh up with it. It looked wonky so I removed the gear and seated the drill all the way on. .LXF Edited November 10, 2010 by messiah1 Quote
pvchagas Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Hi Superkalle, can you please fix this link? Thanks. Wonderful work on the LXF-file. ADHO15. However, I wish Lego would have colored this model differently. As it is now the terrain has the same tan colors as the house so it's diffiult to appreciate how this building is placed in the middle of nature. I wish they would have used dark-tan for the terrarin. In my mod below, I've used a few pieces that are not manufactured in Dark Tan, but I guess Lego could have had them made. I suppose LEGO had their restrictions when designing this set, but I don't agree with their trade off. And then there are pure design flaws. Like the bridge. It's a bridge that you're supposed to drive a car over. In the Lego model it's placed way too high. LXF-file here Edited November 8, 2010 by Superkalle Removed image Quote
Aanchir Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) 8188 Power Miners Fire Blaster A pretty easy build overall. My Rock Monster color may be off, I can't get LDD Manager to work for some reason (something about updateable query) so I'm eyeballing the colors as best I can. .LXF --- 8189 Power Miners Magma Mech The only thing that I couldn't get to work was the gear, which is off to the side. It fit fine on the shaft but the drill wouldn't mesh up with it. I looked wonky so I removed the gear and seated the drill all the way on. .LXF Your links to the LXF files don't work, but I can tell right off the bat that some of your colors are wrong. The rock monster in the Fire Blaster set should be Transparent Yellow and should be holding a Transparent Fluorescent Green crystal. I'd point out any other errors if I could load the LXF files. Even if you don't have LDD manager, you can easily learn which colors are correct by looking at a chart that compares Bricklink names with official LEGO names. I recommend the Peeron color list. That way, you can have Bricklink open in an internet window and use the inventories of the sets to tell you which colors each part should be. In the meantime, I encourage you talk with Superkalle to figure out why LDD Manager won't work. It's an invaluable tool, and I have been working with Superkalle to ensure the accuracy of its color reference chart. UPDATE 4/24/2011: Updated to LDD 4.1. Another new set: 8636 Deep Sea Quest from the Agents theme! LXF File Errors: The flex cables (76302) cannot be flexed into position and have been left to the side of the model. The 1x1 cone (59900) cannot be inserted into the connector piece used for the sub's periscope. It has been left to the side of the model. Parts 3475 have a boundary error that prevents the attachment of part 47755 as directed by the instructions. Part 47755 and the 1x2 grille that is meant to attach to it (2412) have been left to the side of the model. The octopus (6086) cannot be co-injected with two separate colors. It should be a blend of 294 Phosphorescent Green and 42 Transparent Light Blue. It has instead simply been colored 294 Phosphorescent Green. The gemstones (30153) could not be made to rest naturally inside the treasure chest. All four have been left to the side of the model. The BIONICLE claw (44036) is not available in LDD and has been left out of the model. Any parts whose decorations are not available have been left blank. Off to report the errors that are LDD's fault in the bugs and brick errors topic. Edited April 24, 2011 by Aanchir Quote

You can check the index in the first page of the topic (and in case the last pages, if not indexed already) to see if someone already did the set in LDD. In the first page you can find the rules of this topic too! Read that carefully! It seems to me that no one did it until now, however. About instructions of recent sets, you can reach that here! ;) Edited November 8, 2010 by Calabar Quote
