General Armendariz Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 The captains quarters is just about complete! Quote
Captain Genaro Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Those stern cannons must come in handy while you run from the redcoat fleets . I really like the ship. I think that you blended a lot of colors very well. I am not sure about the black 1x1 inbetween the center window and the two side windows. It seems a little out of place making the ship look like a bumble bee. Quote
Jack Bricker Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I really like how you are doing the stern. The two cannons look awsome and I really like the stern gallery. Keep up the good Lego building. Quote
General Armendariz Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 Hell has begun, the rigging. But so far so good Quote
ZCerberus Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Good work General A! I think you got the shape spot on from Blue Hair's manual. Good head rails and good call on the tan decking, it looks great in photos. A few suggestions if I may... I would move the rigging on the foremast back a little bit (like it is on the other masts). Also, the colors on the stern cabin seem a little scattered to me... I see you are going more yellow in the later pictures which seems like a good plan to me! Also, since you have that lovely blue strip running down the ship, I would consider using more blue in the stern cabin (maybe even in-place of the black?) Usually a blue strip running on top of a ship like that is used to incorporate a color used prominently on the stern with the rest of the ship, or so I think. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 So when do I get my design fee? Linky. Looks good mate, although I'd try to put some blue in your stern, can't just have it change to black that fast. Quote
General Armendariz Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 I now take on the dreaded ratlines.... Here's a couple changes around the ship. Peace... Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 She's coming along nicely Admiral! I'm only not sure about the headrails. I would make the yellow line on the bottom (with the 1x2 plates) really a bit shorter than the one on top of it. And I would let the 'cable' from the bowsprit go to just under the crow's nest, but that's just a minor point. The stern (and the stern chasers there) looks great and so is the bell. Keep it up, it's going to be a very fine ship. And as Bonaparte said with Perfectionist's ships, if you finish it soon, it can participate in the contest for the 20 best Lego ships ever. Quote
