Calabar Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 @winsrp You can follow the hints Superkalle gave you here. About thumbnails, the aim of that is to give a clear preview of the set, so that it is easily recognizable. Your thumbnails are too small and dark, and fails in this! Remember that you can insert an image until 512x512 pixels big, if it is necessary! The airport is a big set, so I think you should use a 512x image. The helicopter is small, so you can use a smaller image, but the problem I think is the dark background. About the version with more minifigs, you can post it as an alternative version (but without an image for it!) as I did, for example, with the 4996 Beach house. Quote

Superkalle Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Great job on the ferries guys! Those ships are actually my favorite LEGO-"theme". Got most of them lined up on a shelf in the room I'm in now. And funilly enough, I had too done at least a few of them in LDD, but never got around to posting (and here's a modern ferry I did last year. Naturally designed in LDD first before turning to the real stuff). Quote

primitiv Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Hi, here´s my first contribution to this topic: 8654 - Scuderia Ferrari Truck - Theme: Racers Here´s a picture and here´s the .lxf file: .lxf file Issues: Missing proper minifig heads; missing all stickers; can´t open (in LDD) the trailer roof/side. Quote
Superkalle Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Issues: Missing proper minifig heads; missing all stickers; can´t open (in LDD) the trailer roof/side. A workaround to opening the roof is to remove one of the Technic pegs, open the roof, and replace the peg - but maybe you allready noticed that. Still I'm wondering why the roof will not open with both pegs in. Anyone else who can figure this "bug" out? Regarding the model, I spotted a few errors: 1) The gray color you are using is 2 - Grey, which is the old LEGO gray. You should be using the new 194 Medium Stone Grey (aka Light Bluish Grey in BL) 2) The front wheels of the truck should have two 32123 1/2 BUSH in them. 3) I belive the two 1x2 tiles rear of the turning plate should be Dark Bluish Gray, not black 4) There are two 1x2 red tiles missing in the truck cab (near the roof) A general tip is to always run a finished model in LDD Manager, and you'll be able to trap maybe some more errors. For example, I managed to spot also 5) 2447 in Milky White (should probably be plain white?) 6) In a few places you've used 3066 1x4 brick without center pins. This brick is only used for transparent colors. In the Brick palette in LDD, you need to chose the first of the two 1x4 bricks to get the right one. Anyway, you made a relly good attempt with your first model - so welcome to the gang of LDD Builders PS: You can also use LDD Manager to create a LXF-file with all the parts in the right colors, making it easier to recreate sets i LDD. Regarding the model, I spotted a few errors: 1) Updated 2) Updated 3) Updated 4) There are two 1x2 red tiles missing in the truck cab (near the roof) -> Placed next to the truck; see below 5) 2447 in Milky White (should probably be plain white?) -> Can´t find this. 2447 in LDD is the helmet visor, which is transparent. 6) Updated Anyway, you made a relly good attempt with your first model -> Thanks! Opening of roofs: sometimes in LDD (for me, at least) it is impossible to open/turn parts because other elements are judged to be in the way by the program itself. Removing certain elements seem to remove the block and then it can be turned freely. In this model I think it´s the 6081 Brick with bow that are judged to block something. As for the 4) above, I can´t seem to fit these bits when something else need to go on top. Had the same problem with the Lego Architecture set Falling Water. Maybe someone has a solution to this? (The lxf file has been updated) Quote
Superkalle Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 My bad about 5) - Looking at the inventory for 8654 at BrickLink I see it should be the LDD color 111-Transparent Brown. A good lookup-table to convert BrickLink to LEGO colors can be found here. About 4) It seems the error is in 76385. You could probably cheat by temporily placing the roof without using the hinges (using some scafolding), and then put the 76385 in place last. Quote

Calabar Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 6360 Weekend Cottage - Theme: Town I already built this set! Remember to report if a set is already in the index, it is important to help me when I update it. Quote
petero Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) 7327 Scorpion Pyramid - Theme: Pharaoh's Quest This is an LDD 4 model. 7327 Scorpion Pyramid Of course, the base does not exist in LLD, so I created a brick-built base to match the stud locations. The entire base is colored 312 Medium Nougat, to differentiate it from the rest of the set. It can be removed, or changed to the proper Sand color, by using the color picker. The tank tread for the car is not in LLD. The Khepesh swords have been substituted with 30173 Ninja swords. I have also used Calabar's outstanding brick-built sarcophagus again. There are no patterns or stickers, as always. Peter Edited January 1, 2011 by petero Quote

Commander_Rob Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Recently got this set, couldn't find it on the index and decided to build and post it. 4900 - Fire Helicopter - Theme: City Originally released in 2008. I guess it is some sort of promotional set, since it comes in a small polybag, but neither Peeron nor Brickset say that it is. Here's the LXF file. The model is complete, and unless I missed something, there are no errors. The only difference from the instructions is that the minifig is placed separate from the helicopter and not seated inside.
