I was watching the second season of The Clone Wars on blu ray. In the Landing at Point Rain episode, you can see that the drone Geonosians( the dudes without wings) are green while the winged fellas are brown. Since the drones are the ones who fly the fighters, that would be my guess why we are getting a green Genosian in the Geonsian fighter set.

I think a green one would look better than brown anyways.

Didn't you see them open their mouths in AotC?

Yeah, when Poggle the Lesser speaks. He says "Ak e-et doh-oh tah" or something like that.

I just got Clone Wars Season 2, and was watching through the Geonosis Saga (Landing at Point Rain through Brain Invaders), and now I see Battle For Geonosis and Geonosian Starfighter in a whole new light. Ki-Adi looks pretty accurate, but now I've seen those Flamethrower clones, I need one :cry_sad: Oh well, new sets look great anyway!

Arrg stupid Venator. Nice Vulture though. Sigh looks like the Daily Mirror exclusives aren't so exclusive any more.

Daily Mirror exclusives?

To my knowledge they were never solely meant for The Daily Mirror.

They've even been rereleased in a new polybag and sold in the US.

I personally disagree with the idea of having exclusives.

What's the point?

It's a toy and as such should be sold like one - meaning that everyone should be able to purchase every set there is.

Why make anything exclusive, unless it's meant to create a hype - which I believe is already there for LEGO Star Wars.

Interesting find Darth Sion, thanks for sharing. According to the article, these will be released as Japenese capsule toys. Too bad these "egg capsules" don't make their way into our part of the world.

There are five LEGO Mini sets shown which are to be released (4 of them have already been seen/available before) as Japenese capsule toys in April this year. The LEGO Vulture Droid Mini looks to new.

Yeah for now they'll be released as capsule toys.

I'm sure we'll be seeing them elsewhere - we always do.

The Kabaya sets were never released in the same form though - but I think LEGO wont do that again.

It's expensive to produce almost identical sets instead of just identical sets

That vulture baby looks nice! But I won't get it.

I strongly hope that the droid STAP gets rereleased, though, and that somewhere sometime there'll be an opportunity to buy him in Austria. Along with other MINI sets. 'Cause some of them do look good. :sadnew:

Last year, the only daily mirror sets I purchased were 2 imperial speeder bikes so I really hope these are all re released this year. If so, I think I might snap up multiples of everyone.

Wow I finely got something no one else had posted before me lol.

I am with you KimT, exclusives be it with stores or countries is just unfair, pointless and stupid.

I am hoping as BM is going to be replaced with something world wide TLG will also release the other stuff around the world, if not oh well BL and the instructions thread will do.

I could be wrong but it does look to me the only way to get the wings on would mean they could move so it could stand up, either way it looks very good, as does the venator.

I live in Japan and they don't release them where I am

The collectible minifigs were released randomly in capsule machines, and no matter how hard I looked, I never saw one once. But, I don't live in a major city.

The what was what in the where now?!? *huh*

Wow, Japan is such a crazy place when it comes to capsule toys and wending machines

No worries though - they'll be up on BL at some point.

Already purchased on Bricklink. Toys R Us near me has about 25 capsule machines, and a big mall can have more than 50 lining a wall, stacked on two by two.

If I see these minis though, I'll buy a pile to sell on EB

I looked them up, they'll be ¥400 each, a fair price.

I'm not exactly a fan of minis as you can't get them here, but I think the vulture droid is very nice. It looks like it could be modified into its walking position too.

Unfortunately, as minis aren't usually released here, that means I miss out on good ones such as the Clone walker. :sceptic:

Wow! That vulture Droid is stunning for a mini! :cry_happy:

I wonder if it has a standing mode?

I cant tell for certain because of the angle, but it looks like it might have a standing mode. The wings seem to be able to move in different angles while still sticking out forward, and on the back of the "head" area, there is a joint part. I cant think of any use of that joint piece if the head isn't meant to move, and that would only make sense if it can stand up.

Judging by the angles of the wings, I'd say it definitely can open the wings, but I think if it has a walking mode, the wing would have to be removed and reattached like with the original Vultures.

The Vulture Droid is such a small and rather simply designed vessel anyway, so where's the need for an even smaller version? What do you guys find so attractive about it?

The shape is nice but I just don't need it. The SYSTEM version's enough for me. It's great. :classic:

The mini Vulture Droid looks great! I hope it (and the Venator) are the US Target Easter sets, instead of that awful ATT.

I did a quick mock-up of how I think the Vulture is constructed... it will be able to stand up, but I don't think the wings can close. Sorry for the crazy colors--obviously this mini will come with some useful parts for me.
