Sarkanyapu Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 (edited) Minifigure: Fisherman Theme: Town (Tranquillity) Story: The Fisherman used to love telling stories about his catches, but since no one believes his tales, nowadays he prefers to sit alone on his favourite pier, and watch his own reflection in the water all day, even if he knows, there are no fish in this lake. You will only understand the point of my vignette, if you look at the picture with the fisherman, or my Brickshelf gallery (These pictures are not part of my entry.) Jippon Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 First let me say that I am amazed by some of the entries above! I really enjoyed the last minifig contest and decided to give this contest a shot as well. Minifig: Mummy Theme: Ancient Egypt The Vignette shows the mummy being created/mummified on the top floor. Below is the treasure room, where the sarcophagus awaits him. Additional images: Close up of the treasure room: Close up of the top floor: More images can be found here. Good luck to everyone who enters!

Dannylonglegs Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) Title: Peace and Subtlety minifig: Samurai Theme: fuedal Japan I present my first entry, The Japanese castle. Preparing for the battle tomorrow, The Samurai winds down and tends to his bonzai. Little does he know that a ninja has been sent by his enemies to assassinate him. The tree fits under the two stud limit, but in these pictures it's out to about three. If necessary, I'll retake them, but I can't until sunday, but do tell me, 'cause I don't want to be disqualified. More pics, including one with the samurai, are available at my flickr acount: yay! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited February 26, 2011 by Dannylonglegs
Cecilie Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 My entry is for the samurai. The shogun's most trusted samurai has been assigned as a bodyguard for his daughter. But what the shogun doesn't know is that the samurai secretly has a crush on his daughter, and is using this opportunity to take her to romantic places. But what does the ninja lurking in the shadows want? A picture with the samurai can be seen here.
Darkblane Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 (edited) Parachute This is for the Pilot. The pilot took one last look around the interior of his plane and then looked out at the ground below. It didn't look anything like it did on his map and it was certainly a lot closer than he would have liked, but with the fuel tank shot to pieces he was never going to make it back to base. Oh well ... let's just hope this parachute works! The Pilot minifig stands facing outwards on the two studs in the doorway. Check out the complete set on Flickr if you are interested in seeing the vignette from another couple of angles as well as with the Pilot included: Parachute on Flickr Edited February 28, 2011 by Darkblane

Oky Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 King's Tower Defense Theme: Fantasy Era Castle Minifig: Elf The good King and his brave Crown Knights have finally defeated Mallock the Dark Wizard and put him behind bars where he waited for his execution. However, their joy didn't last long, for soon thereafter, Mallock's entire evil army of the undead, with the help of the trolls, besieged the King's castle. They seemed to stop at nothing to free their dark master. And even though the king and his knights fought bravely, they were hopelessly outnumbered by the skeletons, so they called their neighbors and good friends, the dwarves and elves, for help, who swiftly rushed to their aid. And so, an epic battle between all fantasy factions ensued! On the ground floor, skeletons and trolls are climbing to the first battlement using a ladder and some vines, whereas some others have broken through the wall and are entering the tower from below. Inside, however, they are greeted with the painful hit of a defensive maiden's broom. One skeleton has managed to break into a window on the first floor, but a brave knight is fighting it off. Meanwhile, on the first battlement, the king, his royal guard, and a dwarf are being attacked by trolls and skeletons from all sides. Unbeknown to them, the cowardly jester has sealed the door behind them in order to keep the invaders out, completely forgetting that his king is still out there. On the second battlement, an elf and the king's archers rain arrows down upon the enemy. On top of the tower, the Good Wizard is using his awesome powers to fend off those skeletons attacking from above on their fiery winged demon-horses. He is so busy that he doesn't see that his poor owl is trapped inside the burning tower which had been hit by enemy fire moments ago. In the dungeon below the raging battle, a knight is making sure that the evil Mallock stays imprisoned. Please check out this brickshelf folder for a lot more views and close-ups! And don't worry, I made sure that none of the overhang exceeds the two-stud limit.

Todd_Holaday Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 (edited) Title: Batter Up! Series 3 Minifigure: Baseball Player Theme: Town-Classic Town-Recreation I looked through the submissions yesterday and felt bad for the baseball player minifig! It's my favorite sport, so I had to do my part. If you aren't familiar with the sport, the setup I've created for Mr. Baseball Player is for a right-handed batter, the box he has to stay in is called the "batter's box". The ball is pitched over "home plate" and knee to waist high for a "strike", anything outside that zone would be a ball if the batter doesn't swing. The catcher (who squats to receive the pitch) is in position for a split-finger fastball on the outside portion of the plate. Unfortunately he has no catcher's glove, so that ball is really going to hurt if the batter misses! I feel bad about the simplicity of my design compared to some of the great stuff already posted. The SNOT work was a fun challenge though. Edited March 8, 2011 by Todd_Holaday

Phyre Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 (edited) Minifig: Elf Theme: Castle The elves don't like to cut down trees, so instead they build their towers around the trees. The figure pictured is a Hawk Elf, standing guard at the base of the tower. He awaits the return of the Wood Elf (series 3) who usually keeps a lookout from the top of the tower. Views from the other sides: The tree limbs and Hawk Elf's weapons overhang slightly, but are within the two-stud limit.
