Peanuts Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I did this for my own amusement, apologies if it doesn't fall into the category of 'single pane funnies' and if it's just not funny... snip I find it very funny. And here's another one TCW-faces joke: Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Just a lesser one from me on something that struck me when comparing older and more recent R2s: [snip]] Lesser? This is my favorite of today. Quote
The Legonater Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 The Legonator - Am I correct in interpreting that Luke is so desperate to get blue milk that he's talking to his dead aunt? - That's both sick and hilarious! That thought hadn't crossed my mind. On the recent Clone BP: Quote
Fallenangel Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 On the recent Clone BP: [snip] Indeed - all that orange armor makes them easy targets for snipers. (As if they weren't easy enough to spot...) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Nice job, Legonater. Indeed - all that orange armor makes them easy targets for snipers. (As if they weren't easy enough to spot...) White armor and grey or tan metal isn't that stealthy either. Especially when it has the colors of the rainbow all over it. I guess they figured that technology is advanced enough in SW that camouflage is useless. Even though 25+ years later, Rebel Commandos are still using it. Quote

The choice of white was actually a somewhat symbolic choice on the armys part: It was their way of saying they didn't fear the enemy. Snipers weren't heavily employed by BDs at all either. Elite clone specialists dealing with particular assignments and non-droid enemies may have employed camo, as well(41st elite). Great Funnies, guys! Fallenangel Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 The choice of white was actually a somewhat symbolic choice on the armys part: It was their way of saying they didn't fear the enemy. Huh? I thought that clone armor was only supposed to look white to us because Kaminoans could see in frequencies other than visible light (meaning that clone armor, as well as the rest of the interior of Tipoca City, was actually quite colorful... just not to us). I dismissed it as a blunder on the Kaminoans' part. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 [snip] Jango's Surprise Of course, the DNA sample was altered by the cloners... Huh? I dismissed it as a blunder on the Kaminoans' part. *gasp* Does this mean I get to say 'Bah, retcons!' to fallenangel himself? Why, and SW fan worth his salt knows that the white armor originated to match that of the Stormtroopers! Anyways, back to the funnies. Quote

Why, and SW fan worth his salt knows that the white armor originated to match that of the Stormtroopers! Well, that much is obvious. I was referring to what I thought was Leland's current in-universe explanation. This 'not fearing the enemy' business is new to me. It could be likened to the more recent retconned length of the TIE Advanced x1 which is a whopping 9.8m when even the original length of 7.5m was clearly much too large. In any case, it's all the substitution of one piece of nonsense for another (to quote Orwell). Quote

Quoting the Visual dictionary, AotC section, 'Clone Trooper Equipment': "White Terror: clone trooper uniforms are not camouflaged, because troops fear no one and want their enemies to see them coming from afar." You two farm animals, whats next "Moo Rectons" Great one peanuts! Love the use of the mis-printed clone eyes. Quote
RvB Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Clony- I really don't get it. But the life star was hilarious. Praiters beating you at your home game. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 Praiters beating you at your home game. Good thing it's not a contest. When that Anakin face came out, there was a lot of talk about it looking like Homer Simpson. I think that talk was right on target, the mouth is very Simpsons-esque. And "D'oh!" is, of course, Homer's tagline. The name of the comic "Pulling a Homer" comes from the fifth episode of Simpsons Season 3, although what the phrase actually means in the context of the episode doesn't have that much to do with what's going on in my comic. If you knew nothing about the Simpsons, you probably wouldn't get this one. Quote
prateek Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 What happens when Anakin forgets his lightsaber again? Pulling a Homer I don't understand why his mouth was made like that... Quote
Oky Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Not sure if this has been done before, but here it goes: BARF Trooper Kevin the ARF Trooper got his nickname when he had one too many drinks that one night. And does anyone remember my Creepy-Eyed Stare-Off? Well, at long last, here's Round 2: The Mandalorian VS. Madam Hooch! Who will win? Click the pic and cast your vote! Quote
