I'm really liking the look of this truck, does anyone have any ideas how it's going to work ie the tilt and slide mechanism? La or gear driven,I think it's a real eye catcher too :)also will it be the same scale as the blue container truck or bigger?

Does anyone know when this will be realised? As late as the unimog, or a bit earlier? I hope earlier :classic:

I believe this is the first time we see the alternative model, right? Anyhow, I think the primary is one good looking truck. I like the color scheme. Not so sure about the alternate yet, have to see it from the front, but the functionality looks interesting.

I think it can be called "Panel Truck". :classic: In comparison to container truck 8052 this one is surely bigger, contains plenty of panels and I expect there is plenty of gears too. B-model is more interesting than 8052 alternate as well and I like its scissor mechnism. Maybe, I will add it to my collection... by the way is any front view to B-model available?

The 8109 Flatbed Truck has 1115 pieces, and PF Battery Box and M-Motor.

The 8070 Super Car has 1281 pieces, and a PF Battery Box and M-Motor.

Therefore I suspect that TLG will sell 8109 for about 90% of the price of the 8070. So about US$100 or UK£90 or AU$180. But that is just my guess...

I'm liking the look of these, and I think that I'll have to get at least one, maybe two (one for the B-model). I like the way that the B-Model has a red cab, whereas the A-model has a yellow cab.

But it doesn't look like there are lots of mechanisms in these. Just a tilting (and sliding?) bed, steering, and a simple winch for the A-model, and a scissor mechanism, steering and a simple winch for the B-model.

When did Lego start to display part count on the box? I do not think last year sets had that.

Technic sets have had piece counts on some of their boxes over the years, including last year - such as the box of the 8043 excavator.

The Norwegian "version" does not. I have the box for the excavator in my closet and it certainly does not have piece count. The 8421 mobile cran truck has, strange...

To clear this up: Some regions make mention of the parts count because of legal obligations. This is the case for the Americas. European often don't have the piece count.

I love the joke with the hook that tears the orange band...

On SeTechnic, we finally found how 8109-B works to rise the arm :

Under the battery box, we can see the small dark bluish gray 8t. It works with a with clutch (you can see it too).

At the end of this axis (in the middle of the chassis), there is a worm gear which works with a 24t (you can see 2 or 3 teeth of the 24t).

On the same axis of this 24t, there is a black 12t. And with this last gear, the 13L rack can slide (you can see the rack on the left of the only red connector in the chassis).

Hope my message is understandable (not sure  ).

Nice work! I'am wondering if there is a conection between this B-model and the contanier truck B-model, sinc both of them look like some airport equipment. And about the price, I think this will cost the same or more than the last year mobile crane sinc it has an engine and a batterybox. Lego seems to charge a lot for the engine parts.
