Norrington Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 (edited) Well people, it's time we had a little contest. So here we go: Back in the 1950's, Walt Disney decied that in DisneyLand, he was going to have a Haunted House. Afte nearly ten years in the making, the attraction opened it's doors, on April 9, 1969. In the near 40 years of it's exsistance, The Haunted Mansion has become a fan favorite, and has a entertained audiences all over the world, and has 4 incarnations all over the globe! You can buld anything from the Haunted Mansion or Phantom Manor Attractions. This includes: 1) Models or vignettes of one of the scenes! 2) A lego-tized version of one of the portraits 3) A model of the Facade. 4) A custom figure depicting one of the ghosts in the Mansions 5) Perhaps you can try your hand at a mosiac of the Monster-Face wallpaper, or Master Gracey's Portrait... The rules: - The contest will commence on Friday, June 29, 2007. - Entries are due two weeks from the commencement of the contest, where an mod or admin will close the entries thread so I may create the poll for the entries. - One entry per person - Image size may be no larger than 320 x 240 (landscape or portrait). - Any background image may be used for your scene including real models. - Judging will be performed by Eurobricks members as a separate poll. - All models will be voted on in three categories: Accuracy to Scene/portrait/figure/building, Best Stylization, and Best Overall! - Have fun! Starwars4J Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I'll pin the entries thread, but I have to ask if only official parts may be used? Or can you make customs? If so, what are you limited to? Custom stickers, molded parts, cut official parts, etc? Quote

I'm being kinda lax, because I want to see some good Haunted Mansion mocs! What I would really like to see it this: Some one builds a Foyer or Corridor of Doors model, and build the walls black, and all the doors windows, etc. sticking out. Then they print something like the Foyer Wall-paper of the "Monster Face" wallpaper, print out sections on sticky paper, and wallpaper their model! Edited June 27, 2007 by Norrington Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Norrington: I'd love to participate, but I haven't had much time to build lately. I look forward to seeing some of the entries though. Quote
