WesternOutlaw Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 OK, blending in concepts of existing Lego Ninja fortresses and pictures of Osaka Castle in Japan, I've built yet another Ninja MOC I'll call the Red & White Samurai Fortress. A shot of the entire MOC. It's four floors high. A shot of the 1st floor. Ninja theme castle wall pieces highlight the stone foundation: The third and fourth floors: The Red army leaving the castle for battle: A close-up of the troops. I love their black helmets: A shot of the whole MOC again from a different perspective: I didn't do anything fancy with the interior of this fortress, so did not bother taking any shots. I think this MOC captures the existing Ninja theme design and looks a little more Japanese than the previous Red and Black fortresses. Quote
Brick Miner Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 ya, this one is my favorite yet... the color scheme is right on *y* i do think the first floor clashes a little with the upper floors. it seems very detailed at the bottom, and then above that, we just have white walls. i would suggest adding more detail to the upper levels to even it out. as opposed to decreasing the detail on the lower level. dang you build fast 8- Quote
oo7 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Mr. Brickster, your on fire with these ninjas! Same as Brickminer, I think this looks like the best one yet, although that brown/black rope hanging of the roof looks very out of place. Quote
Starwars4J Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 This is definitely a great model, and you really have a talent for speed-building ;-) What I'd LOVE to see though is a MOC that you spent a few months on, I bet you'd blow us away with it! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 I wanted to try using some fancy graphics like Brickminer and others that do this sort of thing, so here's the MOC as a new Lego Legend, Ninja Canyon Fortress: Note: this is not an actual set. Lego name used only for graphic purposes. Quote
Brick Miner Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 hey that looks good !!! i like the background image *y* did you take out the color on purpose ??? so that the color of the MOC stood out more ??? it was really effective in any case 8- Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Thanks for the photo tip. I don't usually shoot from the bottom. I tried it and I think it came out very nicely: Quote
Starwars4J Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Much improved! Now just deal with the flying horse and we'll have a set :-P Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Flying? He's grounded. That's a path he just came up from. Quote
Starwars4J Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Ah, I see. Well in that case he's a giant! The size of trees ;-) I think the angle might need to be adjusted to accompany that of the castle itself? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 ya, I guess he is a little big. Quote
Hobbes Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 At first I thought this one looked like 4886 Building Bonanza and wasn't too excited. Then I saw your "set pics". They give it a whole different look! Guess it was the green baseplate. Great work! And yeah, you do build damn fast ;-) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Now here's the kicker: I've been using a 56K dial up connection and due to a lot of line static on local phone service, I get numerous disconnects >:-( . I finally went to a high speed cable modem (4MB/sec.), but just hooked it up last night. I've been loading all these images over a 56K modem. I will upload a picture, then build a little, upload another picture, etc... *wacko* I have to say that high speed is great! OK Brickminer, it's your turn to share some WW MOCs. :-P Quote
Brick Miner Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 OK Brickminer, it's your turn to share some WW MOCs. :-Pwell, unfortunately... our anticipation ( ;-) ) is just going to have to wait, as i am awaiting piece from BL. and all the anxiety in the world isn't going to make the mail go any faster :-D however, i plan to release the first in my Ghost Town series next month. im still on schedule X-D the Town & Train Forum skin is finished as of last night *y* oh, and i really REALLY need some replies here too http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=6169. but you know, just cause you asked... i'll "leak" some images (in the true anxious LEGO collector tradition :-D :-D :-D ) tonight or tommorow !!! don't dim your lights too soon *skull* - BrickMiner Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 Build a little faster! Quote
