I'm seeking opinions in which you would like? I like BIONICLE 2015 better, but I do miss William Furno

Feel free to write as I gather opinions as I find BIONICLE 2015 is way better.. :)

Politeness is appreciated, but rudeness isn't welcome! :)

P.S: It's my very first topic here in Eurobricks, which I'll start! :D

Bonkle has always been my favorite, but I did love the relative originality in the HF sets compared to the leaked Bionicle prototypes (god, I hope those are prototypes). Can't wait to see what comes of the CCBS in the future.

I think it's hard to compare the two fairly. Hero Factory sets are more diverse, but that's to be expected, since it's comparing four and a half years of Hero Factory sets to just half a year of BIONICLE sets.

Not to mention that even with the clear pictures we have we STILL don't know for sure about all the parts and features of the new Bionicle sets. Maybe try asking again once the sets are actually released and we can judge the two fairly?

Obviously it's too early to judge, but so far I like the Toa more than most Heroes and I like the new masks (that includes the Spiders) much more than the HF helmets, while the Protectors aren't quite on par with small gems like the Breakout small villains. And it's a bit unfair since he's alone, but Lord of Skull Spiders is nowhere as cool as the Breakout villains and the Beasts.

The Toa are VERY promising however, and I have a feeling Lego is finally going to give the chance for the CCBS to reach a new level of its potential, something that HF's lack of popularity impeded. I truly can't wait to see what Summer has in store for us.

As CCBS action figures, I prefer the appearance of the prototype Toa and Protectors to anything from HF, but I do feel that HF could have gone to some great places with the minifigures introduced in IFB, and am sad to see it ending so soon. I'd have loved another year or two of HF using the Hero minifigs.

Me too, but it's too late.. :(

While I really like what we've seen of Bionicle so far, I'm gonna have to say that I like the 2012 and 2014 Hero Factory sets a liiittle more. I dunno, there was just a lot more originality flowing around.

I was most disappointed when I returned from my second mini dark age that Bionicle was discontinued and Hero Factory has never really interested me, so I'm really excited for the return of Bionicle. :sweet: if Exo Force also returned I would be over the moon and broke

Wow, of all the heroes to miss, I never expected Furno to top anyone's list.

Obviously, I can't answer the question, as we don't even have final images of the new Bionicle, let alone have tem in-hand. Its safe to say that it will be better story wise, as it's arguably hard to be worse, after the failed reboot that was Invasion from Below. Set wise, I'm very optimistic about the new Bionicle sets, but, as I say, I can't be sure.

neither of them

In all seriousness though, I'm not really sure. It depends on the story direction they were going with. If it was just going to be more "heropad" "heromech" "hero city" and "HEROiKEA: IT'S A HERO HERO" but amplified and swapped around with "villain" and then a whole bunch of extra Quaza variants then no thanks. If it was going to be yet another wave or two of Scouts and Titans then no thanks. And if it was a continuation of IFB, NO.

That being said, if they mess up the new BIONICLE I probably would have been happier with a collection of Friends Ultrabuilds over both of them  (I have never bought a Friends set, but I would actually buy these for sheer novelty)

You're joking in the name of The Great Spirit....

New from LEGO, Ultrabuild Ultrabuilds! Constraction figures, now in constraction form!

Hey! HF is announced to have buildable Beast-style dinosaurs with hero figures with both small, medium and large vehicles!

Posted (edited)

Ultrabuilds, however, were a big flop for LEGO. So much so that the Chimabuilds were cancelled in the US for the second set of them. Even if they were pretty unpopular by themselves, nothing screams "BAD!" like sets getting cancelled, an incredibly rare occurrence and even worse considering the US is where LEGO gets a hefty amount of their profit from.

Constraction Dinosaurs.... Hey, Lego's make JP4 sets. Jurassic Park Constraction, anyone?

On topic, it's still hard to say. Right now, I prefer the look of the Bio15 sets more than HF, but that's probably mostly because these look fresh. Once we get more story info, I'll have a better opinion (tomorrow's Comic Con!).

Constraction DInosaurs? Lewa's plot arc confirmed!

Seriously though, this first wave of BIONICLE's looks so promising. The protectors have so much variety I want them all just to build anything I can imagine from them! Im a little disappointed with Lewa's appearance. Im not sure what it is... maybe he just doesnt look as much like his old self to me as any of the others do? I plan on getting the Waihura trio. There are some very interesting designs in the three of them, and they are each characters I had in gen 1.

With all these functions in the larger sets I am anticipating more CCBS/Technic hybrids like Dragon Bolt (but hopefully with less of the decorative horns that dont stay in one spot). More of these will bring pieces akin to the classic BIONICLE ones, as well as show off how CCBS is worthy to carry BIONICLE's legacy.

These sets definitely blow Wave1 HF out of the water, but that was probably due to LEGO familiarizing themselves more with the possibilities they have created. I feel like I should wait til they are released, but they look better than IFB and Savage Planet as well imo. (Slightly off: I don't really know what problems people have with Brain Attack. All the sets look pretty decent to me. Despite being army buidlers they each looked very unique with a slew of new parts and part colors. This is the kind of variety I wish Bionicle's army waves had)

That's great to know (kinda saw it coming though), but you should post it on the BIONICLE (*) 2015 topic, not here.

* = I'm not shouting, that's how it's supposed to be written : P
