Bacon Potatoes Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Just thought I'd make a quick exposition for my new storyline to showcase a small build I threw together. Lord Baconius and his adviser Rex Arlingus are discussing current events in the Kingdom of Ambalar in Baconius's study. The two men are talking about happenings between the guilds, trade, military goings-on, and other topics relevant to the kingdom. "So tell me, what have we got going on in the kingdom today, Rex?" "Well, my lord, our oil supplier in Kaliphin hasn't made any shipments in weeks and the reserves are starting to run dry," Rex replied. "There also have been increasing pirate attacks of our western shores. As well as pirates, we have word from our informants that an unknown military force may attempt to gain our settlements in the enchanted forest from us, which would be unspeakably bad. Ah yes, and the mines in the north are supplying iron at twice the normal rate, so there is some good news." "Put the word out that the Kingdom of Ambalar is looking for a new oil supplier then, and make sure the ore is able to be shipped of the island without our ships being attacked. Add more naval presence in the west." Lord Baconius lowered his voice in a secretive manner. "I do have something I want to show you that may help with that impending attack, if we can get to it in time. Call in Sir Gatewood." Lord Baconius's military adviser, Sir Gatewood, steps into the study. "You called, my lord?" Gatewood replied as he walked up to the desk. "Yes. I have something I wish to show you and Rex. I think I have discovered a great treasure we can use to our advantage if our settlements in the west are attacked as our sources say," Baconius explained in a quiet manner. "I believe it to be in a hidden cave in the Rocky Hollows, which means that we will have to move fast before we are attacked in that area. This is a very ancient power, that legend says lies in the form of a mystical sword created by the druids, capable of defeating entire armies. The cave is concealed by magic, and it will be defended with ancient spells. I have marked the suspected location on this map, and I want you to put together a force to scout the area of the cave. Do not enter it, for I wish to be there when you do, and I have an event to attend to in another part of Avalonia now." Baconius gets up from his desk and walks over to the two men. "Now it is very important," he said in a stern manner, "that not a word of this gets out. I do believe we have a few that we cannot trust in our military forces, and the unseen enemy we seem to have gained must not learn of this weapon. If they do, I believe that our kingdom may fall. Take a member of the cartography guild, a few trustable soldiers, and the old Mage and find the cave. When I return, we shall attempt to gain this weapon for Ambalar." The three men walk out of the study together and begin to prepare for the adventure that awaits them. Here is a shot of the study without any minifigures. Quote
