kabel Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 167D Alright, I started this project for the Giulds of Historica about a year ago and except for one yard and one sail she's pretty much done I'd say. I actually used the ship in a story over there but I wanted to give it it's own thread in the ship builders forum. So without further ado, here is my latest Caravella: Quote
Infernum Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 That is one pretty ship Kabel. Nice work! Quote
Alfadas Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I love it! The sail is very nice, and the two colours in the hull are a great touch! Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Now, that is one pretty caravel! Really like the lines and colors. Those black vertical 'stripes' add a lot flavor, as do the sails. And the rigging looks very well done, too! Seems you're becoming a small ship expert Do you have a link to that story you were referring to? Thanks for sharing! Hope you manage to finish your topsail schooner soon, as well. Best regards, KB Quote
IenjoyLego89 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Gorgeous ship! :) I like the sails as well makes it look more authentic :) Quote
Slegengr Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 That is one nice caravel, kabel! I particularly like the sails and rigging, even though they are non-LEGO, as well as the stripe of red and tan down the side and the black tiling on the side. The bear paw sigil looks nice on the sail. The only thing that I wish could be different is the hinge gapping on the front. I wish there was a way to effectively hide this gap with LEGO pieces, both for this build and the many other uses of hinges to make round objects. I have not yet seen a good solution to this issue as old as the LEGO hinge itself... Brick on, kabel! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Very well done, Kabel, with a decent color scheme! I like the custom rigging too. Looks great. Any pictures with a rear view? Quote
Sebeus I Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 SHe looks nice, I like the gentle curve of it, will I see it at BM Antwerp next month? Quote
kabel Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 Thanks for the comments guys. Glad you like it! @kb: well it's the intro story to the current GoH challenge, it doesn't play that big a role though. @cb: yeah, I realized myself, this definetely needs a rear view pic. @Sebeus: yep. she'll be at the BMA! Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Hmm... must have slipped my eyes... shame on me. But we can count on those rear views, can we not? Oh and btw... glad you survived 'Nocturnus'! Quote
Loves Houses Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Very nice medieval ship. And the custom made sail are a hit. Quote
