vitreolum Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) My first build for the Challenge III Dwarven Affairs > A. Ancestors and Heroes Would like to claim UoP credit for: - advanced SNOT - life in Mitgardia Edited January 21, 2015 by vitreolum Quote
narbilu Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) Wow... he really looks like a hero. Epic. Nice use of foilage. Edited October 24, 2014 by narbilu Quote
IenjoyLego89 Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 That's some statue! :) i like the arts usage to represent different parts of the armour. The foliage around it is pretty well done :) good luck with the challenge :) Quote
Gabe Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Sweet statue vitreolum, it has a ton of character! Love the hero pose. Great parts usage too for the beard texture, so unexpected but the regularity of the pattern works really well. At this scale and level of detailing this certainly qualifies for advanced SNOT - UoP +1 for both catagories. Quote
Kai NRG Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Good work with the statue vitroleum, the posing is excellent and gives it lots of character, especially the raised arms and the cape. +1 for both the credits! Quote
Slegengr Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Great statue, vitreolum! Nice parts usage throughout and excellent posing. The platform and foliage add a nice effect. The complexity of this is much greater than I think I could manage. The only part I would like different is the blockiness of the boots and arms, though I do not have a suggestion for improvement, as I have not tried a complex statue before. Brick on, vitreolum! gedren_y Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 UoP DoH +1 on both claims. That axe on the ground is also an inspired little creation. Quote
Garmadon Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Awesome statue, Vitreolum, my favorite details are the cape and the hammers The texture is excellent, especially the exposed studs, and gives it a lot of character - great entry Quote
Jorrith Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Wow, that's really impressive! I like how you used different parts to mimic certain details, like the beard. Quote
MassEditor Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Beautiful work V, I knew you'd have a superb entry for this category. The beard and winged parts of the statue's helm are very well done. Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) This is great! I love the pose, and the little mushroom is simply inspired. Edited October 24, 2014 by -Carson Haupt- Quote
mccoyed Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 After I saw Legonardo's statue, I was like "how does anyone compete with that?" and was very discouraged about Cat A. Now I see more possibility! Wonderful build, V. Quote
Scaevola Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Impressive, the statue is quite realistic (for lego) and is immediately recognize as a dwarve. Quote
vitreolum Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 Thanks! @mccoyed Heh, I was thinking the same thing, it was definitely a push to try and do my best here. Quote
