Alfadas Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 A few weeks past since the orc shot me in the arm. Apparently the poison wasn't really poisonness, just enough to black out. We built a better gate, with a small house attached to live in. We send a letter to Alfadas and he send some archers to defend the gate. Now, we have finished the gate. Let the damned orcs come. We make a fire, boil some water and settle down to get some sleep. "Alarm! Wake up!" I open my eyes and see the sun is already up. I grab my sword and shield, put my helmet on and run towards the sound. I see some orcs, this time without armour, and start fighting. "Aargh" that's one orc down, killed by one of the archers. "Björn, get up, you lazy bastard. I don't care, get up!" Björn started drinking again, and is probably drunk. I dodge an attack, block one with my shield, see an opening and jam my sword in his stomach. The orc falls down. Meanwhile, the archers shot another orc, and the last one is killed by a rock, falling on his head. I know the pics are a bit blurry and weird, but I'm having some problems with the camera. Anyway, the front view. A look through an opening in the roof, for throwing rocks. And a view of the inside of the "house". Nice comfy bunk-beds. And that's the last phase of the Gatehouse. C&C welcome! Quote
Sir Gareth Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Nice build, Alfadas! I really like the texture of the wall, though light bluish gray brick bricks may be more fitting than those grill bricks. Quote
Alfadas Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 Thanks! Yeah, I know, but I saw them in the PAB wall, and not the brick bricks. Need to order some of those soon... Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Nice! I'd maybe add some crenellations along the top! Quote
Slegengr Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Nice build, Alfadas! I like the incorporation of the arrow slit alongside the doors for guarding where the wall-top guards could not. The combination of stone and wood works well for appearance of a Mitgardian build. I agree that the profile "brick" bricks would look better and some crenellations atop the wall would improve the protection appearance of the wall. Brick on, Alfadas! Quote
Alfadas Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Thanks. Yeah, I thought of adding crenellations, but then I ran out of those brown logs. Need to order more of them, and Brick bricks. But thanks anyway! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Solid finish to the gatehouse phases. I like the slit for defenders to throw things at enemies and the bunk beds are a good touch as well Quote
Jorrith Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Nice build! I like the slit to throw rocks on attackers and the use of palisade bricks to make it look like wooden fortifications. I'd suggest to use less of the profile bricks, and some more of those single groove brick "bricks" Quote
