Dalafik Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Hi! Not only I am newbie here, but also I am new to modelling using Lego Technic. Nevertheless, I decided to test my skill in TC5. Since I've only recently started to build my collection of Technic sets, I didn't have much choice in selecting which sets I could use - there are only 2 sets under 600 peices in my possesion right now: 42005 Monster Truck and 42021 Snowmobile. Not the best option, considering the size of the 42005's wheels, but after many attempts I finally came up with something reasonable - the Front Engine Buggy. Functions include: independent front & back suspension; working steering wheel; openable cabin; and that's all. I decided to remove the HOG due its negative effect on the look of the model. So there is a horizontal one. There is also a little problem with suspension - the shock absorbers are slightly soft for this model, and should be replaced by the hard ones in other circumstances for better playability. Zerobricks Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Are you kidding me? Its freaking awesome! I love the connector-built engine and the working independent suspension! Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) It looks very nice. Interesting rear axle! I think it might be better than the new 42037 coming next year! Very well done for your first model and for rather unusual combo of sets. Could you please add a photo from below? Best regards. Edited November 14, 2014 by MajklSpajkl Quote

Tomik Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 It really looks like new buggy 42037 - well done! How do you operate steering? Can you do it somewhere else besides using steering wheel in cab? Quote

Appie Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Great model. I really like how you combined the colours. It really looks like new buggy 42037 - well done! How do you operate steering? Can you do it somewhere else besides using steering wheel in cab? Yellow knob gear at the front window. Quote
Dalafik Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Thanks everyone for the positive feedback! It looks very nice. Interesting rear axle! I think it might be better than the new 42037 coming next year! Very well done for your first model and for rather unusual combo of sets. Could you please add a photo from below? Best regards. I've uploaded a LXF file (there is a couple of glitches - LDD fault, not mine) and submitted the model at Rebrickable. Quote
stevyboy4 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I have made this buggy exactly the same as your LDD-file and the suspension is realy wobbly, is it much better when you use the yellow shock's? Quote
TheNextLegoDesinger Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 with the yellow shock's the suspention will be stiffer Quote
