In hot haste, our Kaliphlin diplomat rushes to Avalonia.

Change of scene. An elf, Bohemen, strides rapidly up and down the floor: "Again I protest, we want nothing other than peace!" Pauses to turn and pace the other way. "But surely you cannot expect us to sit tamely by while the dwarves undermine our lands - literally - under the false pretense of our alliance with the drow! Even they know the pretense is false, all they want is our gold, our land..."

Diplomat: "Yes, yes, I understand, indeed I do. And you can be sure that I will do my best to turn the dwarves from their horrifying intentions - nothing less than to plunge us all into war again."

Bohemen: "War! When will they ever be tired of it! I do not see how even you can convince them."

Diplomat: "Do not fear, I hold the ear to Axichlav, one of their most respected leaders. But that is not what I came to ask. Would you, on behalf of all the elves, sign a document promising peace and protesting your separation from the drow on your part if the dwarves will promise to cease their invasion? And would the elves honor your signature?"

Bohemen: "As to the first, yes, a thousand times. As to the second, I believe they would. But you ask much. How are we to forget all the evil that has already been done?" Bohemen pauses and stops pacing. "Still, you may rest assured that I will do my best!"

Diplomat: "Then be prepared, for already I have the document ready - here is a copy if you wish to peruse it - and it remains only to convince the dwarves. And, too, I need your safe conduct for Axichlav. See here, and here is his promise that he comes on a visit of peace only."

Bohemen (admiringly): "Ah! I see you are one step ahead of the game. So be it! If you can bring him here tomorrow, the grand hall will be ready for the signing of the treaty. May it be a binding one!"

Diplomat: "Amen to that!" The diplomat bows and retires.

The next day, a grand group of all classes gather in the hall to witness the signing of the document that will hopefully bring peace back to the guilds!

I really would have liked to have two or even three more builds for this, but lack of time and pieces put quite a damper on that. At least I was able to get a Cat. C entry in, which I believe is my first one!

Hope you liked it! C&C are always welcome!

Edit: Changed pic size on Flickr and needed to correct the BBCode...

Great work Kai, on both the story and builds! The cracked, broken floor is a definite highlight here, looks really good. The chamber room looks great too, the little details like the flags and torches are nice touches. I like the red floor as well, stands out quite nicely amongst the rest of the build. Good work too on the Avalonian farming scene, I always like to see peaceful village scenes like this. I think the dark bley path running through the scene could use some color variation (maybe a patch of grass or mud peaking through) but other than that, this is an excellent entry!

Very nice builds Kai, I especially like that second one! :classic: The flags and torches on the wall are great little details, and I like the greebling on the arches

Excellent stuff Kai! I always like how much you actually do with the limited amount of bricks you own. Queen of vigs I'd say!

Good story development and an excellent rural scene.

Interesting use of hands and spanners in the diplomat scene.

Let us hope for peace!

"interesting" in German sense, i.e. positively intriguing. (I understand that in American English "interesting" could be read as negative comment)

Thanks everyone!

Thanks ME! Yes, now that you mention it, color variation on the path would have added to it a bit. I'm always rather overly concerned about making sure the sides look organic and are clearly distinguishable, and I did run out of those colors but I could probably have spared a few pieces to go more in the middle of the road!

Thanks! For me both of these were quite large  , anything that's larger than 32x32 is pretty big to me, . One of these days though I'll definitely do something really big, maybe as a collab with Garmadon...

Excellent work Kai NRG! The first build is nice and detailed, lots of stuff going on there. The second, i really love that rock floor. Also i enjoyed reading the story, great entry for CHIII!

Both builds are excellent. The building and farm details in the first are great, and I like how you angled the path through the build

The courtyard in the second building gives a very neat texture, good fig posing too. Congratulations on your first Challenge C entry, I'm sure you'll have many more to come in the future :classic:

Excellent builds, Kai!

The farm is wonderful in its realistic details like the terrain variation, vegetation, stone wall, curved sty fence, the tools and materials laying about, and general activity of the minifigures (especially the rushed position of the messenger)! The border for the MOC is marvelous in its simple color incorporation! As others noted on the court floor, the cracks look great! I like the contrast of the cracked, gray floor to the smooth, red carpet. The court attendants fill out the build nicely.

Two great mocs Kai! :wub:The "broken" floor pattern is so good looking! Have to make it my self soon!

Thanks dG! You certainly should!

Thanks Slegengr! I do like that border... which is a good thing as I don't have a whole lot of other options right now...

Great job with the stone work and the red floor on the 2nd build. And you have achieved a great organic feel to the difference in terrain on the 1st. Great work all around!

Very nicely done! That blood-red floor is a bit disconcerting, but I like the mosaic floor. I also like the contrast between the textured, cluttered outdoor scene and the slickness of the indoor scene. Good story, too!

 I hadn't really thought of it that way... hmmm. Thanks!
