-Carson Haupt- Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 The great clan Silver-helm was on the move, off to be a part of an invasion of unrivaled size since they seized their mountainous home from the goblins during the first age. While they were eager to claim the glory they knew they would earn, there were certain steps crucial to Amy battle that had to be respected. The ruined and ancient statue of Lokthar Silver-helm was the last part of the prepping that the army would do, and as they filed into the earth, they silently beseeched their great fore-father for guidance, protection and strenght. The current leader, the descendant of the long dead Lokthar, watched his troops pass beneath him from his vantage point on the pedestal. As the end of the column drew near, the scribe finished up his count from his perch on the cliff. By his reckoning, the Drow stood no chance against their army. And at last, they were gone, the invasion was begun, and there was nothing to be done to stop it. Quote
mccoyed Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Great looking build. The framing of the scene, especially the first shot, is great. The details of the build like the rockwork and tunnel are excellent. My favorite detail is the "seated short legs" technique you've devised. Brilliant! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Very good. Not only the aforementioned "seated short legs" but also the rock work (kind of "SNAA" = studs nowhere at all). Quote
Kai NRG Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Your landscaping is getting better and better, the rock here is really nice especially in the area of the cave entrance! The olive green leaves add to it quite nicely as well! Quote
Jorrith Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 The rockwork is top-notch, love the story too! Also the base looks really nice. Quote
Garmadon Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Awesome entry, the rock-work and landscaping here is really excellent! Great job on the statue as well, and brilliant detail with the sitting short legs! Quote
mrcp6d Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'll echo the comments about the seated dwarf. Headlight bricks as legs is something I'd definitely never have come up with myself! Quote
de Gothia Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Really awesome moc here! The rocks and cave entrance is so good! My only small nitpick would be the background, have you tried gimp? Really easy to use! But it´s a great entry for sure! Quote
kabel Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Nice rockwork, great shrine and a very cool assembly of dwarves. I like it! Quote

MiloNelsiano Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Very nice build for the same reasons already mentioned. I think this is my favorite build by you that I've seen. Keep it up! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 The landscape looks great, especially the rockwork Neat little shrine too, I think this is one of your best builds yet Quote
Slegengr Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Great build, Carson! The rockwork is great, as others have mentioned! I also like the seated scribe. The foliage adds a nice visual splash of color to the gray rock. The ruined shrine is a nice idea and well done. Quote

Lord Vladivus Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Very nice! Cool technique with the sitting short legs! Quote
SarahJoy Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Nicely contructed rockwork landscape! The cave opening/passageway is very cool, as is the use of dark and light grays as cutout elements. I'm glad you included a photo without the minifigs -- while their march is visually impactful, I liked seeing the altar/shrine as well. Quote
