Lipko Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) Hi all! This is a functional folding bike with front and rear suspension. It's a replica of an existing model called "Birdy" from the German company Riese & Müller. Link for the real bike The Lego model features -full suspension -chain drive with tensioner -kickstand -height adjustable seat -carrier that also folds along with the bike -realistic folding and unfolding. The folding is modelled as precisely as I could do with Lego pieces. A short video showing the functions and folding: Visit the picture gallery when it gets published: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=530946 Edited January 8, 2015 by Lipko Quote

5imon Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Wow, this is really an amazing model, completely off the beaten track. I like how realistic everything is done. The great side-by-side picture with the original shows this very well. Quote

Hereticae Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Looks like you really pulled the foldability off, not an easy feat. Edited January 10, 2015 by Hereticae Quote

alexb420 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Very nice work. It's not often that you see someone building a bike like this. :) Quote
TheNextLegoDesinger Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 sorry for bumping this topic but i really like how you did it and how it looks like the real deal. i would love to see you make a brompton or Dahon speed. Quote
Lipko Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 (edited) Thank you for the comment! Actually someone already made a Brompton, though I couldn't find much info about it. I only found it after someone made a comment on my Birdy model about it: http://www.bicipiegh...hp?topic=8845.0 Maybe these are the two working Lego folding bikes ever posted publicly.
