Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) Here is my entry for the GoH CMF Series: Mitgardia: The Yeti Guard - the perfect protector in the North. Dwarfanardo is a famous dwarven inventor. His latest ballista model is shown here in front of him. Well, you know how life is in Mitgardia, especially in winter. So this young maiden has got work to do. Sometimes husbands return late from the pub. Sometimes the wife is waiting. A member of the City Guard of Brun's Fall. Wearing gloves against the Mitgardian bad weather. He does not look too happy. Maybe somebody is waiting for him... Avalonia: The Dragon-Tamer has a hard job. If he's lucky the dragon can be fed by carrots. If not... The Rogue: Don't trust him. The Scissor Grinder is a traveling man. Good, when he is around. The (human) Sentinel is keeping his eyes open. Nocturnus: The Drow Sentinel: A much-feared strangely-hatted warrior. His eyes are also open (but red). The Mage is always trying to figure out what this spell scroll is about... The Dark Crossbow Archer rarely misses. Kaliphlin: The Pastry Cook: Want some? Maybe the Duke wants some pastry. However, currently he is happy with some honey he has received. Maybe coming from Mitgardia. The Juggler can be seen in Kaliphlin at times. Some days are good, some aren't... Excellent mushrooms can be found all over Kaliphlin. I am looking forward to your comments! Edit: Does that allow to claim: Anthropology life in Avalonia life in Mitgardia life in Nocturnus? Edited January 11, 2015 by Captain Braunsfeld Quote
Tomsche Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 The Happy Wife... hilarious Love the comical tone of this series, the grinder, shovler and cook are my favorites Quote
mccoyed Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 My favorite is the juggler. Spot on. There are some inspired ideas here, but I think you probably should have chosen a different shield for the Yeti (those are Avalonia colors he's flying!) and I think one or two of the Nocturnus 'figs could have used a bit more effort. Tomsche Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Green yellow is the colour of us vikings! Them Avalonian copycats just wanted to look like the cool kids on the block Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 Love the comical tone of this series, the grinder, shovler and cook are my favorites Yepp, the comical tone - that is very me I think you probably should have chosen a different shield for the Yeti (those are Avalonia colors he's flying!) and I think one or two of the Nocturnus 'figs could have used a bit more effort. Good point. The Yeti initially had a different (more Mitgardian) shield. My wife suggested to change that (her fault  ) And I also thought that the crossbow archer needs something more. But my wife liked it that way. To clarify: My wife is not like the one from Mitgardia. Quote
Graham Gidman Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Yeah, that Juggler is just great. Well done! Quote
mccoyed Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Haha, nice. My wife had a lot of involvement in my series too! Quote
Venkefedo Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Nice, funny series! But you missed one: the gent down on the lower left of the group shot, with the Conquistador helm! Quote
mrcp6d Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Maybe the Duke wants some pastry. However, currently he is happy with some honey he has received. Maybe coming from Mitgardia. Of course he's happy! That's good stuff, and unlike pastries, it's low-carb! Seriously though, my favorites of your series are the juggler and the dragon tamer. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Nice, funny series! But you missed one: the gent down on the lower left of the group shot, with the Conquistador helm! Thanks for mentioning. I'l correct it soon. Quote
ArchitectureFan Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Funny series! I like the dwarf inventor. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Lots of great figs here! Dwarfanado, rogue, and the unlucky jester are my favorites Quote
de Gothia Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Thedwarf inventor and the angry woman is so great! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Thanks for your comments. There are, of course, some minifgs that have not made the final selection of 16 - the "runners up". Some of them I found quite interesting, so I'll bother you with them: 1) Here is the original Yeti: 2) The Unhappy Kaliphlin Carrot Customer: (very sad that he did not make it) 3) Avalonian bowman: (with kilt) (his beard was too close to the dwarf inventor's beard) 4) Mitgardian Maid: 5) Kaliphlin Guard (you've seen him in Dunehill Castle) 6) Halfling Assassin: 7) Dwarf Artillerist: 8) Another Kaliphlin Guard: (I thought he is interesting, but I had already used the helmet) 9) Unknown Soldier 10) Unknown Maid I could not figure out what she looked like originally and whether I had created something with her or not... Ok, that's about it. Quote
Slegengr Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Nice series, Captain Braunsfeld! I particularly like the unfortunate juggler and the Drow sentinel! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Thanks for your kind comments. Just one for the poor Scissor Grinder? ... he was actually the most difficult to do. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I quite like the scissor grinder actually! My favourite though is the Drow sentinel! Quote
Kai NRG Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Nice series here, I particularly like the rogue, juggler, and scissor grinder! As for the UoP, I don't quite feel that I should give the credits; after all these are just minifigures from their respective builds and aren't really being shown living their lives. Quote
mpoh98 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Lovely series, I love the rogue, the dragon tamer, and the scissor grinder! All very unique characters, fantastic work! Quote
