JamesJT Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) I have enjoyed checking out all the amazing technic MOCs on this site. I thought I should share some of mine, starting with my small carousel. Jeroen Ottens Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 At first I thought: A nice little caroussel, good try, like the colourscheme Then I saw the video with the moving horses. That is really neat! Two things to improve maybe: Have a picture from a lower angle, it is all a bit top-down, that doesn't do your model justice. Mention the functions you have in the model in the post, this is after all a (dominantly) technic forum. Quote
MrTekneex Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 It is very beautiful, I love it!!! I can't stop watching it. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 The moving horses . This carousel rocks  and please show us how it's works Quote
JamesJT Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 lego 007 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr The colour scheme probably took longer than the design, I used 10196 as inspiration. I just wish it made the carousel music (like in the video) instead of the constant whine from the M motor. The 32269 is fixed so it turns the four cranks and makes the horses go up and down as the carousel turns. Carousel 5 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr Spoils the fun when you see how simple it is. It has been on Cuusoo (now lego ideas) for a year and only has 22 votes. Quote
aeh5040 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Wow, that's a really neat model! I would try to make the horse color contrast more with the background. Eg. horses white, center section black, no other white anywhere. Quote
BusterHaus Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I'll join the choir of voices singing praises for the moving horses. Sometimes the simplest mechanisms are the most mesmerizing. Quote

Balrog Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Wow, this is so cool If you scale it up a little, you could even let some minifigs take a spin! Quote
valis Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 This is great! I love it's simplicity of the moving horse mechanism yet it translates into something quite wonderful. Quote
nerdsforprez Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 This is really great. I love it. Recently, (too lazy to look up), there was a whole discussion lamenting the fact that nearly all Technic productions were some sort of wheeled invention. This one breaks outside that box while remaining functional. Nice job. Quote
DrJB Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 ... there was a whole discussion lamenting the fact that nearly all Technic productions were some sort of wheeled invention ... You mean this one? http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102657&hl=drjb#entry2060117 Quote
Paul Boratko Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I really dig this.. Many cool ideas you came up with... Quote
Chilly Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Why doesn't this (Eurobricks) forum have a "like" button? Then instead of filling up page after page of comments, likes and praise we could see all the likes beside the original post. Quote
