Warzone 1: The Arkbri Skirmishes (E7)

A vast network of irrigration canals are providing water to the food production in the Arkbri valley. Not all of the crops have failed, but the increasing presence of soldiers from all factions have caused many farmers to flee and abandon their fields.

Here, patrolling soldiers from Barqa have encountered a scouting band of mountain mummies who have been cornered against an irrigration canal and quickly surrender when their leader has been killed.

Congratz on the first entry! :classic:

Looks very lush, and the posing is excellent, Gideon. Good to see the Barqa guard mobilised in this war!

One wonders what would happen to a mummy, should it fall into the water...

(On a side note, I have a build waiting to be photographed that has many similarities to this! GMTA  )

Thanks!

Maybe that's why they are so scared and surrender so easily?

And we're off!

I like the tag you used. We should make that official.

Thanks! I like the amount of information it contains, but I'm wondering if "Ch4" is really needed to include?

Including both warzone number and actual map square is probably a good idea, to be able to quickly identify which battle a build belongs to (maybe there will be multiple battles in the same zone?) and to be able to quickly identify where on the map the build is.

Yeah, I think we could take that out. I can edit the title if you want.

Maybe [WZ1:E7, High Council] is good?

Nice work Gideon. You've done well to keep it interesting in what is a difficult base requirement (16 x 16). The palm tree is a nice design.

I am happy to  this as part of the "Approvals" section of the rules.

One suggestion might be to make the water section angled rather than with right angled sides to make it look more natural.

If it is an irrigation canal dug out in the mud the shape makes sense to me.

Fair point. I guess if timber was used to prevent is collapsing then right-angles make sense. It just stood out to me...but maybe I need to read the descriptions better!

Thanks for the support! Now let's clear this valley from those linen-wraps!!

Ooc: I agree that sloping sides of the canal probably would have been more realistic. However I don't think I have suitable pieces in dk orange...

Wow, that is dark orange? My eyes just assumed it was brown with the wrong color adjustment, but since the rest of the colors are spot on, I don't know why I thought that.

Great scene and well photographed. The vegetation fits the particular warzone well. Though, I don't think DK troops would give up so easily - every death is a new martyr to the king's troops!

Colors and fig posing are getting this MOC to a high level. I especially like the agricultural environment of the Arkbri you showed to us.
