At the edge of the Reservoir, a contingent of Yukar clean up after a brief battle with Ulandian soldiers. It's been a long time since the Yukar clansmen have been in a battle, but now Petera MacLean calls them to serve the High Council and serve they shall.

The Yukar leader makes ready to plant a banner. Soon, other High Council troops will appear to take full possession of the waterwheel at this location. The waterwheel is considered a vital fixture on the aqueduct, one of a handful that other Yukar are currently capturing. The wheel pulls water up out of the reservoir and send it down the ducts to the rich farmlands nearby.

Yukar are notorious for taking the heads of defeated enemies. Some might not appreciate the pollution of the reservoirs potable water, but it's the last thing on the mind of Tantam, First Executioner for Hataman.

Those Yukar are definitely grim fighters and even harsher victors! You pulled off the bllod flowing into the stream quite well, although I wonder if it shouldn't be flowing downriver? I think that added detail would give it (another) notch up.

The aqueduct and the waterwheel is great, and I really like the patches of plants. That the aquaduct is angled like that nicely breaks up the traditional straight angles of most (well, mine at least  ) Lego builds!

It would seem the High Council is off to a good start in the first two warzones!

For the High Council!

I think this is a great contraption to bring water the the aqueducts. The blood-letting is good too!!! Great Job Mccoyed!

I am personally refraining from giving thumbs up, since I am doing most of the running and have to stay neutral. But, i will come back and put one down if this build can't get a second. Thanks Basiliscus for helping out with this part of the competition.

I'll be your second  on this build, as others have said the blood stream is really nice. I would have liked to see a bit smoother of a border though, or otherwise a bit of symmetry with the length of the missing squares/rectangles.

Great to see that the loyalists are taking the initiative in this conflict!

Ooc: Nice details on the shoreline, especially the bloody part

Nice build and action! Brunak the Chosen's clan has been displaced by the desert king and, being in the area, are happy to work with their kin from further north. I will also approve your build:

The nice river and palm next to the blood and severed heads makes for quite the juxtaposition! This is a great scene, the aqueduct system is an excellent and practical idea.

The Nocturnian resistance has to note the effectiveness and ferocity of the Yukar clansmen. Perhaps they can be convinced to return to Nocturnus once the Kaliphlin troubles are solved and join the fight against the Spire?

Awesome! Cool figs, and great aqueduct/water wheel.

Thanks LV. I struggled with that part of the build. Did like 4 versions of the waterwheel before I found one that was the right size and shape.

Good eye re: the blood. That said, this was supposed to be a reservoir which actually raises the question of how the waterwheel functions without some other motion-capturing mechanism. I guess I should have done the blood flowing downstream or added sails to the waterwheel to catch wind instead of flowing water. Oops!

Nice little scene mccoyed! Your water wheel is solid and I like the irregular base choice.

I am happy to  this for the challenge (as per the "Approvals" section of the rules).

Thanks. I try to experiment with base shapes. I should have done a frame for this base, though. Didn't notice that my daughter used the light blue plate as a ruler (see the pink marker?) until after I was posting these.

Thanks Kai. I agree. I don't mind the irregular shape of the base, and it is symmetrical at the waterside edge. On the other side, it's not... I should have made a frame for it though. That would have helped I think.

Very nice build! I really like the waterwheel and the bits of foliage

And as Bregir said, having it angled looks great!

Thanks!

Thanks Mike!

Absolutely fitting the challenge!! Excellent job and a very well deserved approved :)

Thanks Maxim!

Great work!

The waterwheel looks fantastic. The minifigures look great, too.

You're too nice. I wish I'd had some brown 1x1 blocks with the technic holes so that I didn't have to include light bley. That's the only thing about the wheel that I'd change.

Thanks ME. The Yukar fled Nocturnus during the civil war. They're not big fans of the current management. They fought in the Whispering Wood for Petera MacLean and won a place in his lands. Now they serve him as their liegelord. He'd have to give them his blessing to return and fight in Nocturnus, but it could happen!

Very nice battle scene and I really like the water wheel.

Thanks Goliath.

Great looking aqueduct!! Also neat blood effect! Too bad you troops are fighting for the wrong side

Thanks, but the Yukar go where the Best MacLean tells them.

Cool aqueduct, I like that you angled it and the water wheel makes good use of those catapults

The palm tree and banner are neat as well :classic:

Thanks SK. I was so happy when I discovered I had exactly eight of those little things. They are pretty useless as actual catapults in MOCs, after all.

a bit sinister - but fantastic water!

War ain't cute! Thanks, Cap'n.

Great bloody build, and very cool wheel! I also like that the vegetation is growing at the base of the aqueduct, where there's probably a bit of leakage.

I actually don't mind that there's no frame around the base. A few trans round plates scattered around the water's edge could have softened the hard angles, but that could have also been a pain to edit!
