Anio Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 EDIT : Professional building instruction available for sale. See the end of the first post. You can email me at setechnic@gmail.com /EDIT Hello, I would like to present you my latest MOC. A UCS C3PO. UCS C-3PO by Anio, sur Flickr UCS C-3PO by Anio, sur Flickr UCS C-3PO by Anio, sur Flickr UCS C-3PO by Anio, sur Flickr UCS C-3PO by Anio, sur Flickr Before I start, here are some interesting links : - FlickR gallery : https://www.flickr.c...57657124074835/ - Brickshelf gallery : http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=553927 The MOC is made out of 756 parts. All visible parts are chromed. There is SNOT more or less everywhere, from the head to the feet. The MOC is fully articulated, excepted on the knees. All the joins don't make the model more playable, but it gives a more realistic look. I am quite proud of the head which was a big challenge. The waist is made with "custom" elements. It is a flexible pattern. Bricks here would have make the model too bulky. Some close up pictures : No need to say that the price of such a model is way beyond a regular model. But it is worth it anyway. :p I worked quite a long time on this model. I would like to thank : - Frousmoul for producing a professional instruction - Philo, for creating the parts of the waist in 3D - Efjie for printing the mouth on the head - and Blakbird for the 3D renders Thank you guys for your help on this collaborative project ! ;) The build, modular like most of my MOCs : The instruction : Given that it is a very collector item, the instruction is sold 30€. I also consider that price to be a fair amount of money given the time it required to produce such a model and instruction. As always, it is a HD professional instruction, and I would like to congratulate Frousmoul once again. Sticker, inventory and the pattern of the waist is included. To buy it, you can PM me on Eurobricks, on Youtube, on FlickR, or email me at setechnic@gmail.com Video : Hope you like it. :) Quote
GuyDudeMan27 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Great job! I never thought that something this beutiful could be created with Legos! My only qualm is that the hips are a bit fat, but I suppose that it is inevitable that there will be some inaccuracies. Overall, this is a fantastic model! Will you try more of these in the future? Kelso Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Wow that is very well build, and shiny.. C3PO looks fantastic! Quote
dr_spock Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Nice work. I wonder if there will ever be a real gold plated one. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 That looks amazing, all of those chrome parts look perfect together. You should do some more UCS characters. Quote
James Wellington Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Wow! Where did you get all the gold parts!?! Great work! Quote
Azrielsc Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Speechless! This is a really nice representation of C3P0. I wonder if I could use yellow bricks instead of gold chrome. :) Quote
neoconagenda Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Once again you have made an amazing work of art... Quote
hallonsylt Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Wooohoooo!! Anio is back :D Looks great as always. All that gold o.O Quote
Mr Man Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Outstanding work . However it looks a little 'off' without a mouth. Quote
sander1992 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 That is awesome. Nice and shiny. Indeed the mouth is missing, but the rest looks accurate and good. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Great build. However....C-3PO doesn't have 2 golden legs...one of them is silver. Correct that and it's spot on! Quote
Anio Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Will you try more of these in the future? More what ? Great work, can it go along side R2-D2? My C-3PO is not the same scale as 10225. Outstanding work . However it looks a little 'off' without a mouth. True. I will try to print a mooth in the future.. C-3PO doesn't have 2 golden legs...one of them is silver. Correct that and it's spot on! Look Episode III, when C-3PO is very shiny. Problem fixed. Quote
DarthTwoShedsJackson Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 There might be some slight inaccuracies, but who cares - the model is very beautiful, well executed and definitely an eyecatcher! I wonder if it is possible to actually build the face with an actual narrow slit for the mouth, though. Quote
Khaled Yousef Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Now this is my idea of a perfect MOC: 1- Creative idea, I haven’t seen anyone who thought of making 3PO in chrome gold at this scale. 2- Awesome design, the overall look and your attention to details speaks for itself. 3- Wow factor, bringing all this shiny bricks together is not an easy or cheap job, and it’s definitely eye-candy to real fans. 4- And finally presentation, your choice of dark background and perfect lighting makes your model really stand out. It’s a beautiful MOC Anio… amazing job as always. Quote
Lobot Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Another masterpiece, from the builder with the Midas touch! Quote
GuyDudeMan27 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I meant more figures in this scale, namely an R2 to match it. Quote
Darth Dino Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Hi well most people might be impressed by the LOT of chrome hold - which is mostly rather a wuestion of money. But this MOC is still amazing if you would have choosen just yellow bricks. Very very nice curves with just so few space, If Anthony wouldnt have been so tall and thin but a normal size and weight man, C3PO would look like this. Do sou know if all these slopes are available in yellow? Im a purist, sorry :) Dino Edited March 11, 2015 by Darth Dino Quote
Anio Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 Thanks everyone. Do sou know if all these slopes are available in yellow? Im a purist, sorry :) Unfortuntately, some parts are not available in yellow. Well, not yet... Quote
icemann Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 omg... gorgeous.. i want to touch it so...badly.... Quote
Anio Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 omg... gorgeous.. i want to touch it so...badly.... huhu. I am not surprised. I went to a small exhibition last week end and I presented this UCS C3PO. Many people want to touch it. I had to look after the MOC from the very start of the exhibition, to the very end. No need to say that this is the kind of model that would not survive in a longer exhibition... Too fragile, and in the end, you are tired to look after it 24/7. Quote
