EyesOnly Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Long ago i watched some amazing commercials about technic, the most remembered being 8868 and later one about 8889 being pulled apart by machines and put in a box. :'-) The problem is that i didn't record them and i can't find anything. I've searched this forum and found links to brickfilms and retrobricks. BF didn't seem to have any commercials that i could find and RB had some but non about technic. Please i really want to see them again but they really seem to have disappeared which is really sad. :'-( If only i had had a computer and tv-card back then. :-| Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 10, 2007 Author Posted August 10, 2007 Anyone :-/ Is there no other ideas about this? Quote
Greatdane Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 damn no wonder lego was so popular back in my day with adverts like that! better than the new ones with a corny american voice (no offense!) sounding to over enthusiastic :'-) lego need to higher their old marketing director back Quote

I thought that DB24 thought that i hadn't watched to clip which i had, but i still wanted to have it offline just in case it gets removed or so or at least to save me from having to go there to watch it. I'm searching now and just found another one, this time from 1989 about the auto chassis, the predecessor to the Supercar. *sweet* Quote
DLuders Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 (edited) Here's a short 1995 TV commercial about Lego Technic. Admercial's is titled "Turn You On": Chaz2727 posted about the Lego Technic 8480 Space Shuttle set's TV commercial (from ~1996): Edited October 15, 2010 by DLuders Quote
allanp Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 The 8880 ad has got to be the best lego ad ever . I also think the packaging (the front with the technical drawing behind the picture, the clear lid allowing you to see all the parts and especially the tray with the special parts in) was awesome, way more intising than todays presentation of sets but that's a different topic. Hears a few more oldies not in this thread yet, Enjoy. http://www.ina.fr/pub/culture-et-loisirs/video/PUB3774397077/lego-technic-jeu-de-construction.fr.html Anybody mind telling me how you guys deep links your pics and vids so they appear on the page, it never seems to work for me! Crtlego Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 When I started reading the first post the first thing that pops into mind was a page on TechnicBRICKs which had many of these videos in very good quality. Of course, they were all from YouTube but I recommend going there to find the better ones... The ad for the Super Car was amazing!!! Quote

DLuders Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 (edited) LegomationStudio has this about Lego Technic Roboriders. "These sets are awesome and very rare! If you have any than your lucky! Lol, this same guy has been doing the voices for Lego commercials for a very long time now! EPIC VOICE!" Edited November 28, 2010 by DLuders Quote
Blakbird Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 LegomationStudio "These sets are awesome and very rare! " Really? Those are not the adjectives I would have used. You can have mine for free when I am done writing about them. Quote
dolittle Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Really? Those are not the adjectives I would have used. You can have mine for free when I am done writing about them. :) Even the parts aren't worth it? :) Thanks, Noam Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Even the parts aren't worth it? :) I only have the 8510 Lava and the only useful part (that any Technic fan don't already have a ton of) are the halberds: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8510-1 The sets have surprisingly high ratings: http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=Technic&subtheme=Robo%20Riders BrickLink price guide is pretty revealing as well: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=8510-1 Quote
Blakbird Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 The sets have surprisingly high ratings: http://www.brickset....e=Robo%20Riders Yes, it is surprising. I suppose anyone who likes Bionicle would probably also like these. They are basically very early versions of Bionicle. If, however, you like technical functions, then these are not for you. The parts are not even useful Technic parts mostly. Quote
DLuders Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) [bUMP] On his YouTube channel, Ludovico599 has a collection of ~16 Lego Technic TV commercials all in one location. An example is the 8485 Control Center II commercial below. He recently posted this YouTube video showing a generic Lego Technic advertisement (second video below): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTU-UzIGKks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi3isHg7CzE Edited September 9, 2012 by DLuders Quote
