Scarst Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) *Edited to add two pictures and correct spelling (Counter to Lord Dan's and Goliath's Guerillas) There are many tales that circulate the sands of Kaliphlin, whether they be of the Desert King or Lost Vega they capture the minds of all Kaliphlinites. Though there are many legends known only to true Kaliphlinites, this is one such story. The merchants of Kaliphlin have passed down their knowledge to each new generation. All merchants in Kaliphlin know that the Oil Road can be a dangerous place. They know where and when to stop and where to avoid. One such place is where the Oil Road come close to the Arkbri River. Cynthia was a young women from a rich hunting village they survived on the Arkbri River by Trapping, they would often find a prize at least once a week, though with the civil war the game in the area had gotten more restless and therefore more careless, Cynthia’s village was more prosperous than ever. It was one such excursion where Cynthia had gotten separated from her escort and had bandits come upon her, before she could do anything she was quickly saved by a daring soldier who told her He worked for the desert king. Cynthia found this fascinating, she’d decided to make sure he was rewarded by her father the leader of her village. Cynthia: “Thank you very much brave soldier, if you’d escort me back to my village my Father will surely reward you.” Soldier: “Of course Mi’Lady it would be an honor to help you in your time of need”, He said thinking the woman’s father would make a great new ally. Cynthia: “Oh but first, you said you were a soldier for the Desert King?” Soldier: “Yes, the true king of Kaliphlin.” Cynthia nodded. Cynthia: “Oh but there is a group of dwarves over to the west a ways they’ve been on our land stealing resources, word has it they are from Ulandis, I’m sure you’d be able to handle a few small dwarves I’ll show you where they are.” Soldier: “I would be more than happy to deal with your Dwarven Scum problem, just make sure to stay behind me I couldn’t bare the thought of you being hurt.” Cynthia nodded as she guided the Soldier towards the Dwarven camp. Dwarf: “Oi! If it ain’t a dust bag lover.”, the dwarf said in a gruff voice brandishing his sword getting ready to fight. Soldier: “You’ll regret the day you sided with those water logged devils!”, the soldier rebutted. Cynthia had decided this was enough. The two seemed more likely to stand there all day insulting each other than fighting, so she decided to take action. Cynthia: “Oh boys!”, she called out as both the dwarf and soldier turned. The soldier let out a loud cry and the usually overly talkative dwarf was stunned speechless. She’d just have to wait for the rest of the dwarves to come back and she’d have a complete set! damsel by scarst21, on Flickr Edited April 6, 2015 by Scarst Quote

Jacob Nion Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Really smart way to kill two birds with one stone (or two flies with one swatter as it is said where I come from). And I like the clean look without studs. Quote
LordDan Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Wow that was a Huge plot twist! I thought that you were going to have the DK soldier and Ulandian dwarf fight it out when out of nowhere the damsel turned out to be a gorgon!! Great work on incorporating features from both my build and Goliaths! Quote
