The din of battle raged all around and at last concentrated itself upon a little strip of wall toward the south. The Desert King forces pressed on in spite of the thickly flying arrows of the defenders, dragging ladders after them, scrambling up the rock on their hands and knees. It seemed that nothing would stop them; careless of death they came forward and at last, with a hoarse, triumphant shout, placed their ladders against the wall.

Up top, the defenders couldn't help but grin. Those mummies were no good at math. The ladders were too short!

Disheartened by their utter failure, the Desert King forces soon gave up and retreated in complete discomfiture.

Comments are welcome! I believe this is the largest sliver of wall I've done yet, used up just about all my tan and dark tan 2x1 plates!

You've done a great job on the wall. I like the use of those torsos a lot. And the ports for the crossbows are also a great job.

This will definitely be a hard battle.

Excellent entry Kai, great job on the wall's texture! Great story as well, those mummies...

I hope so! :devil::laugh:

In all reality, who would want mummy soldiers? I mean, their brains must have decomposed long ago...

Great build Kai, I like the plate texturing and the wooden shutters are a nice touch  The rubble filling might look a little better if it was closer to flush with the end of the wall :classic:

Great scene and entry, the wall looks superb. I've been looking forward to seeing entries for this minichallenge, considering the somewhat minimal size limit. I figured it would make for some tall builds, and this is a perfect example of going vertical for some extra detail.

The rockwork looks good too but my favorite detail is that crossbow sticking out of the window slit. Nice touch!

Thanks guys!

Thanks! Yes, now that you mention it that looks quite weird. It's just that with the jumpers sticking out I felt that it should be inset a bit so I gave it a half inset and then with the angle only caught the ones that were sticking out... but the rest is there, I assure you!

Thanks ME! Actually I could have done a wider wall but that would have sliced the height about in half. This kind of texturing sure uses up a lot of pieces!

Nice wall! And great work on fig posing.

Thanks!

Great build and great wall (I mean, not that "Great Wall", but a fine wall...)

But of course the DK attack was just a diversion, a mock attack...

Thank you! Yeah, I know that about the DK, but Garmadon is busy deflecting the real one.:tongue:

Overall really nice build! Both the cliffs and the wall look great, and those crenelations are very inventive! And that crossbow sticking out is a great detail!

Thank you! I was feeling pretty pleased with the crossbow myself!
