Hinckley Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Announcing: After the close of the smackdown between me and Sinner, I decided to preview my new comic, The Many Adventures of the Whacker and the Walrus, in addition to Sinner and me you may find some other firendly Eurobricks faces. I have asked for permission from everyone I used. For those who I asked who don't see themselves in the comic, never fear, your characters shall pop in eventually. When I return from vacation I shall clean the comic up a bit. I don't like the introduction page. The design was thrown together at the last minute as I'm running out of time before we have to leave. I also hope to finish up the first issue in time to debut it on my site with episode 13 of Fabuland Housewives. The comic should be easier to follow as it's shorter and has a more simple plot. For those of you keeping score, I am pushing The Book of the Ancients back yet again. Anyway read and enjoy a Eurobricks exclusive preview of The Many Adventures of the Whacker and the Walrus... Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted August 11, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted August 11, 2007 I just love the comic Hinckley *wub* It looks 100% professional. Good story, nice clear pictures. But most of all, I love the world you've created for this story. An excellent way for me to start the day. I'm looking forward in anticipation for part II. Quote
El Bucanero Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 That really was hilarious Mr Dinc... err Hinckley!! :-D I'm looking forward to the next part! BTW, Mr Bonaparte is Belgian, not Dutch ;-) Mr Tiber Quote
gylman Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Obviously, there are 30 hours (or far more) in your day. Or where else do you find the time to do all this? Slick and hilarious!!!!!!!! Quote
Shadows Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 POTENTIAL SPOILER ZONE! GO READ THE COMIC FIRST, YOU'LL THANK ME! I'm only just starting it, but the first shot forces me to comment immediately. It's like a classic movie. Abbott and Costello! *y* *y* *y* That first shot is pure setup. You automatically know what's coming. There they are, each holding an implement of whackitude, surrounded by even more of them. What will happen? Ha! You know what will happen. Read their lines. Conflict! Conflict and blunt weapons! Pure win. In this scenario, I'm picturing Hinkley playing the part of Bud Abbott. Bud was always the smart guy, the fast talker, the man with the plan, the one who knew just how to push Costello's buttons to get the right reaction. Ironically, in this comedy team Bud was the straight man 8- Quote
Siegfried Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Great! Its good to seem that I am being recognised for my essential Dork skills... 8-| Coll was a bit surprised at her instant fame! :-P I love our new home and I look forward to seeing more of our adventures. X-D Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Very well done, Dinckley! ( :-D ) Awesome comic. Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Awesome. I loved this comic, and I eagerly await many more installments to come! Quote
Starwars4J Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Really nice X-D I have a few observations... 1. I want that hammer *wub* 2. I want that rake *wub* 3. In the scene where you first whack Sinner, the light makes his eyes look scrunched. Was that intentional? It took me a few minutes to realize it was the light, and that you didn't paint the eyes or edit them in photoshop 8-| Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Fantastic! *sweet* I can't wait to see next part! It's just hilarious.. Everything is perfect. :'-) *y* In the scene where Copmike speaks Swedish, I think you've done a mistake; He says "Tjaba, l Quote
Khorne Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Friggin' awesome *wub* ! I love the scene where you get whacked by the rake X-D . Keep it up! Now I really need to make a sigfig and start making funny comments, so I can be in the comic :-P . Well, here it goes: horse walks into a bar, says the bartender: "why the long face?". No? Ok then :'-( . Quote

Sir Dillon Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 This was hilarious, Hinckley. :-D I laughed out loud while I read the first page. (the second page was funny too, but I'd recollected myself.) I love the character you've given to the... uh, characters. Especially that you're quick to fight, but as soon as they start fighting back, you complain. :-P Very well done. I look forward to more! X-D Quote
Hinckley Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 So as not to dissapoint Holodoc, I concluded the first issue. Read it here. Click continues here after the second page. I had some time before I left, and I was excited to finish issue #1! or click the pic to start on page 3 if you've already read pages 1 & 2: POTENTIAL SPOILER ZONE! GO READ THE COMIC FIRST, YOU'LL THANK ME! Smart guy with the spoiler alert, thank you! It's like a classic movie. Abbott and Costello! Thanks for the glowing review and analysis. Abbott and Costello are two of my favorites. *wub* Ironically, in this comedy team Bud was the straight man (come on, admit it, it's a good joke). :-D :-D Nice! *y* Of course it's a good joke. BTW, don't be afraid that type of joke with me. It does not offend me when done tastefully, as you've done *sweet* Great! Its good to seem that I am being recognised for my essential Dork skills...Coll was a bit surprised at her instant fame! I was going to ask you about being dork consultant, but I thought it'd be a nice surprise! :-P I'm glad Collette liked it!! X-D Really nice I have a few observations...1. I want that hammer 2. I want that rake 3. In the scene where you first whack Sinner, the light makes his eyes look scrunched. Was that intentional? It took me a few minutes to realize it was the light, and that you didn't paint the eyes or edit them in photoshop I will keep my eye out for rakes and hammers and if you're a good Timmy-faced-knight, maybe Santa will bring them to you. ;-) Thanks SW4J and are you referring to this pic? because that is the first whack... Fantastic! I can't wait to see next part! It's just hilarious.. Everything is perfect. :'-) In the scene where Copmike speaks Swedish, I think you've done a mistake; He says "Tjaba, l Quote
Shadows Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 The drama, the emotion, the raw power of conflict, subtle humour, in your face humour, slapstick comedy, innuendo, puns and wordplay, appropriate scenery that adds to the atmosphere but doesn't distract from the story line. Add a dream sequence and some mystery and it's got everything I look for in a show (I can't help but think of it as a show for some reason). Oh, and fascinating parts I haven't seen before (I've already put the rake on my Brickshelf wanted list, but that hammer isn't available anywhere). I must confess to a deep dark secret. A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away I read the first issue of Fabuland Housewives and loved it. Always wished they were available in a PDF with the captions built in for offline viewing. Point is though, after reading it, I had a disturbing urge to buy a Fabuland shovel, which I did in my next parts order. Later I picked up a pile of yellow brooms. I was thrilled to find one of the axes used in Jabba's Palace and bought more for other guards. I can't even imagine why they don't reissue that hammer as a Castle weapon, it would be perfect with the current line. Hi, my name is Imperial Shadows and I am a Fabuland Accessory Junkie. *wub* Stop staring at me people. :-$ Great cliffhanger Hinkley, can't wait for the next exciting episode! Quote
El Bucanero Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 That was even more funny! :-D POSSIBLE SPOILERS! I love the Takeshi hair part, and the bread part, the part were Collete protects Mr Sinner and runs away again. :-D Eagerly waiting for issue 2! Mr Tiber Quote
Asuka Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 The adventures of the flying blue bucket on! :-D *y* Quote
Quarryman Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Hehe.. this was excellent! :-D Looking forward to the next issue :-) (and if you ever need a Norwegian consultant feel free to drop me a line) Quote

ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 This really cracks me up :-D I loved the "self service pump" line :-D (I admit, I have a fondness for groin injury humor) ;-) I can't wait for the next issue. Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Thanks, Hickley!! *wub* *wub* That was truly hilarious!! :-D I can't wait to see the rest! Highlight of the week! *sweet* Now I really need to make a sigfig and start making funny comments, so I can be in the comic :-P . Well, here it goes: horse walks into a bar, says the bartender: "why the long face?".No? Ok then :'-( . I thought Collette was your sigfig. :-P ;-) "Tjaba" is a Swedish slang word for "hej", in english "hi". What Quote
Siegfried Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I thought Collette was your sigfig. :-P ;-) Maybe, but she was my wife first.... :-P Quote
