Jacob Nion Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) Hear now the tale of a lost kingdom. A realm, far in the north of Nocturnus, deep under the Rakath Mountains. This was the infamous kingdom of the rats. They had arived like a plague, once in the eldest days, and over centuries their breed had grown enormously. A voracious and insatiable race, they soon had subdued the former great dwarven mines along the border to Mitgardia. And every dwarven clan was henceforth forced to pay tribute to the cruel rat kings. Not only their mined treasures, but also their own people, who would find their sad end in the deepest mines of their masters. Fate decided that the last king of the rats should be Osric Isentooth. He was the onehundredninetysecond king, the fourtyninth of House Isentooth, and the thirteenth of his name. He wore the crown of the horned rat, and sat on a roughly hewn stone throne, beneath his feet laid the skulls of ninetynine dwarven lords. And every living dwarvish ruler was careful not to displease king Osric, that he may not became the onehundredth head rotting on the ground. For many years, Osric could see his kingdom prospering. But the days of his realm were going to an end, slowly, silent, and inevitable... to be continued. King Osric: Edited April 13, 2015 by Jacob Nion Quote
Jakorin Swiftsword Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 That's awesome! Like I said on Flickr, great detail of the crown on your character's head. Quote
Robin Creations Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Oh yeah, this is great! I love the crack in the floor and the crown! Quote
Bregir Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I really like how you have created a whole race and are working to elaborate the lore behind them. Plus, you are cranking out fantastic builds, including the ones in the challenge, where you fit in the Rat People. Great work! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Now your rats are my other favourite army/race in GoH! Excellent build, great use of the crown and great rocks! Quote
Kai NRG Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 A very nice and exalted looking throne! The base is great as well! Quote
Garmadon Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Excellent build JN, I really like that you're fleshing out the rats' history a bit more! Very nice job on the floor with the crack and the fig posing as well, especially with the horned crown! Quote
Blufiji Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Tal-gurok will have to keep the rat king at a distance! Just stay out of the southern Rakath, that's Goblin lands! Ooc: great background story. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Good work. I will also praise the throne and the crack in the floor! Quote
Graham Gidman Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I have to tell you, Jacob, I'm in no way a fan of rodents, but you've got one of the coolest characters in GoH... Great build, too! Quote
LittleJohn Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Great scene! I really like the base and throne Quote
MassEditor Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Hellacious build man! The Rat Kingdom shows itself to be a cruel but powerful and long-lived society, perfect for Nocturnus! Great work on this build, especially the angled/SNOT rockwork that makes up the throne. The pile of skulls is wicked but I know from experience that had to be a terribly frustrating task! Man, definitely one of your finest builds yet, glad you joined GoH good sir. Look forward to seeing what ill tides of fate brought about the fall of this rodent empire. Quote
Yzalirk Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Awesome build, Jacob, I am really looking forward to more stories about your rates and Osric despite the fact that you may be hurting my kin! Quote
Gideon Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Now your rats are my other favourite army/race in GoH! Excellent build, great use of the crown and great rocks! Second that! They are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with Quote
Balbo Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) Awesome! I really like how you made the base and the throne . The minifigures are great, too! Edited April 13, 2015 by Balbo Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 We don't have to call you king Osric now do we? Quote
Jacob Nion Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Wow, thank you all so much for the whole commendation I'm glad you like the story. I really like how you have created a whole race and are working to elaborate the lore behind them. Plus, you are cranking out fantastic builds, including the ones in the challenge, where you fit in the Rat People. Great work! Thank you! Every fantasy world should have their rats. Excellent build JN, I really like that you're fleshing out the rats' history a bit more! Very nice job on the floor with the crack and the fig posing as well, especially with the horned crown! Thanks!. I'm glad at least once my character can wear a hat in some way. Tal-gurok will have to keep the rat king at a distance! Just stay out of the southern Rakath, that's Goblin lands! Ooc: great background story. Wasn't your name Gal-Turok? There is nothing to worry, the rats will never again settle down in the Rakath. And we should stick together, I mean, goblins are in some way just like us rats, without tail of course. Now your rats are my other favourite army/race in GoH! Excellent build, great use of the crown and great rocks! I have to tell you, Jacob, I'm in no way a fan of rodents, but you've got one of the coolest characters in GoH... Great build, too! Second that! They are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with Wow, I guess these are the highest compliments one can receive here I'm really glad you like the rats. The thing is, I had chosen them simply because I wanted to keep my "Bothan" sig fig. And rats were the obvious choice of race. Though I never heard of "Skaven" and such, I was of course aware that there are already rat like races in many fantasy worlds, it's just too evident. Hellacious build man! Thank you so much ME I'm happy how they fit in Nocturnus. In fact, I planned to join the guild long before I came up with the rats. It seems that Nocturnus needs expansion and support the most, so I'm honoured to add a whole people to our wonderful guild. We don't have to call you king Osric now do we? Nah, I'm no king anymore. You can read that in the upcoming continuation. It's just Lord Osric, or simply Osric.
