MiloNelsiano Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 The battle of Queenscross was fought outside its walls, as the local guard refused to side with the Council or the Desert King until one of the sides prevailed. The High Council troops included several squads of elite archers that were able to thin out the Desert King’s troops very quickly. The Desert King’s troops began their retreat at a point outside the wall where the Shrine of Al-Shirii overlooks. Many of the guards at Queenscross dress and arm themselves similarly to Ali-Shirii’s sculpture at the shrine. My first Kaliphlin build! I definitely need some more sand-looking pieces. I've been very confused/overwhelmed by this whole challenge, so if I did something wrong, please let me know. Sorry I couldn't come up with a witty topic title. C&C always welcome! Quote
Elostirion Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I love the use of these turned-around arches, great build! Quote
LittleJohn Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Fantastic entry! I really like the colors for the wall and the texturing is superb Excellent tower too! Quote
Jacob Nion Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Great wall with studs on the ground! And the golden dome totally matches what I have seen of Queenscross so far. Quote
Spader Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Nice! The wall looks quite good, as does the tower. Quote
Kai NRG Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Very nice job with the up-side-down arches! Good work on the fig posing as well! Quote
Garmadon Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Excellent job on the wall and tower MN, and very nice fig posing! Quote
Blufiji Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 The wall is well done as is the minifig posing. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Great work! Nice figs, and good posing! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Excellent build - I still haven't figured out where the wall starts to be upside down, but anyway: very well done. Quote
Balbo Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Great! I like the colour scheme and the way you made the wall Quote
Adair Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Nice! Like the battlements! The wall would have looked better a little higher, but that's ok. :) Quote
Bregir Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Cool entry! The wall is really innovative - never thought of turning those arches upside down - and the Shrine is a beautiful construction! I like your posing too, but would suggest a bit more texturing to the ground in front, as the monocolour appearance makes it look rather bland. However, all in all, this is a very nice build! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Really pretty wall, and a very unique look The tower in the background is great too Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 Thanks guys! Excellent build - I still haven't figured out where the wall starts to be upside down, but anyway: very well done. The wall is actually completely upside down, and attaches to the ground with a few "The One Ring"s. Nice! Like the battlements! The wall would have looked better a little higher, but that's ok. :) Thanks. A higher wall mjght have looked better, but i dont have a whole lot of bricks in that color. Cool entry! The wall is really innovative - never thought of turning those arches upside down - and the Shrine is a beautiful construction! I like your posing too, but would suggest a bit more texturing to the ground in front, as the monocolour appearance makes it look rather bland. However, all in all, this is a very nice build! Thanks. Boring grounds is pretty typical in my MOCs right now, but Im trying to get somr more pieces to make them more interesting. Quote
