Brainbox Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Okay, so as anyone who's read my 'Snapshots part 1' thread can attest to, I'm involved in an amateur pantomime from a tech perspective. After having built my vig, I thought 'what about the rest of the cast. Why can't they get a look in?' So I set to work building this, a Lego (well, duh) version of the stage, and got in as many of the characters as I could. The panto's called 'when pantomimes collide' and fatures a mix of characters from different pantos in a quasi-original script. So if some of the characters seem a little out of place, then it's intentional. Obviously though, some characters couldn't be featured, either because I didn't have room or didn't have the right pieces to make a passable representation of either them or their costume/character. So, the 7 dwarves, the evil queen, the trainee fairy and frankenstein aren't featured. The 'scenes' being re-enacted here are all based on actual scenes from the panto. From left to right are: The Fairy providing a narration, The Genie appearing to Aladdin and Peter Pan. Widow Twanky should be here too, but he/she's... ...fighting a wolf, Snow White singing her solo, Abanaza sneaking across the stage, and the Witch giving a narration. Now the characters. You know, it's funny how much these representations actually look like the real people they're supposed to be. Obviously you'll have to take my word for that, though. Abanaza Aladdin (with his magical lamp) Fairy (the real costume doesn't have wings, but I thought that she needed some way to fly) Genie (love the smoke swirl) Peter Pan Snow White Widow Twanky (probably my favourite) Witch Wolf And some shots of the lights: And finally, the audience running joke and mainstay of panto, the pie! Gallery (when public) I've not shown it to the cast of the panto yet, but I may take some pictures along to the next rehersal to see what they think. Comment, questions and constructive criticisms welcome. :-) Quote
casewindu Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 really nice Moc brainbox! I love the amount of detail in here from the lights to the pie! I also like the way the fairy and witch look like they are flying! Who will you play in the play ( :-P ) out of interest! Quote
Siegfried Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Ahhh, this brings back memories. :'-) Nice MOC. *sweet* Quote
Asuka Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Very nice, good stage lighting! Genie on! *y* Quote
Brainbox Posted August 31, 2007 Author Posted August 31, 2007 Thanks everyone! Who will you play in the play ( :-P ) out of interest! I'm doing all the tech stuff. Lights, camera, sound (and here you thought I was gonna say 'action' ;-) ). I can't feature myself in this MOC, as Snow White's nicked my sigfig's hair. :-D In fact I've just got back. It went really well, the audience joined in at all the right times, making the whole thing really enjoyable. I've gained even more toys to play with in 'tech corner', so many in fact, that I have to crawl under all the wires just to get to my seat! The slapstick 'Comedy Decorating Sequence' got lots of laughs, as did Widow Twanky (ah, who else?). Now we've got to do it all again tomorrow afternoon. Quote
