Jacob Nion Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 And who are you, the proud lord said That I must fear your breed? Only a rat of an eastern coat, That's all the truth I know. In a coat of gold and a coat of red, Your rats maybe have swords. But mine are long and sharp my lord As long and sharp as yours. And so he spoke, and so he spoke That lord of small Auner. But now the rains weep o'er his inn With no one there to hear. Yes now the rains weep o'er his inn And not a soul to hear. Quote
Blufiji Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Agreed, gruesome and disturbing, but very Nocty in theme. Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Ooh! Ouch! Yikes! The scorched inn frame is excellent (if a fire-ravaged building can possibly be) and the textures in the chimney and other rocks are nice. I like the irregular base but for me the highlight is the black chest. It just looks perfect in that setting - burned, but not completely destroyed. The remains look brutal although I'm wondering how the hanging was accomplished with everything on fire - perhaps it happened after the blaze had subsided? I think it's safe to say they got their point across. I haven't even built my inn yet and other people are burning them down! Very good depiction of a sad subject. Quote
robuko Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 You are just on fire right now! I'm wondering how the hanging was accomplished with everything on fire special flameproof rat-rope? Quote
Kai NRG Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Great job burning *sniff* my inn, *sniff sniff*, the charred outline is really well done and the little touches such as the chest and hanging figure add a lot! An applause for making it open, too! Quote
MassEditor Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) Oh man, this is just too cool of a counter! I hate to see Kai's excellent little inn go up in flames, but I guess that's what happens to those who cross the Desert King! I love how you kept this burnt, crispy husk so closely in style to Kai's build (like the opening feature, that totally gave me a laugh!). The burnt up figs/skeletons are a brutal but excellent touch. (It is funny how closely we think together at times, Jacob, as you will see with my counter to Garmadon!) Superb! Edited May 18, 2015 by MassEditor Quote
LittleJohn Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Great counter! The charred effect is very nice Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Good work making the burnt out frame recognizable as Kai's inn Glad you made it hinge too Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Good counter Jacob, your on a roll with these great builds Quote

Otherwise you couldn't look inside It was really fun to measure up Kai's inn and think about how to transform it into a ruin. Kai, we could totally enter category a with these. Good counter Jacob, your on a roll with these great builds So are you sir! Quote
Balbo Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Very nice (but brutal) story and creation. I like the black frame Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 A bit macabre, but well done. Good counter! Quote
Garmadon Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Excellent charred inn Jacob, the opening feature is a great addition! Seriously though, very nice job, the blackened chest and hanged person fit the mood well Quote
Spader Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Could've sworn I commented here....oh well. Very nice, the detailing is quite well done. The burned out feel is definitely in this build. Good work! Quote
